To accommodate Mother Nature's mischievous mood on Tuesday morning, the ribbon cutting for the 86th annual Logan County Fair was moved inside instead of at the west gate of the fairgrounds.

The event hosted at the Lincoln Stage, out of the wind and rain, was well attended by fair officials, the 2021 Logan County royalty, and several queen pageant contestants.

Also on hand was Renee Martin representing Illinois Senator Sally Turner.

On behalf of the board, Logan County Fair Board member John Fulton thanked everyone for coming out to help kick off the week of fun at the fair. He spoke words of appreciation to all those who contributed to a successful fair each year.

The ribbon cut was led by Karen Hargis of LDN with help from Logan County Tourism Bureau Director Alice Roate and Assistant Lexi Groves.

Logan County Fair Queen 2021 Caroline Ahrends, Junior Miss Alayna Briggs and Little Miss Sophia Farmer had the pleasure of snipping the ribbon at the 86th fair.

On Tuesday evening, despite weather challenges and a change in venue to a show barn, Logan County Fair Pageant was one of the earliest and said to be the best in years.

The new 2022 Logan County Fair Queen is Emma Stoltzenburg. Queen Stoltzenburg will serve as hostess of this year’s fair going to as many of the fair events this year as she can get to and will often be accompanied newly crowned Junior Miss Isabella Pollice and Little Miss Luci Bobell.
