Fall is a hectic time of year for Gail and David Sasse and their staff as they open up Gail's Pumpkin Patch to hundreds, if not thousands of visitors from the first of September to the end of October. Yet, the group always participates in the Paint the Paper Pink pictures.

That allows us to say something about time management. Even though we all live hectic lives, when we know someone needs support, let's try to be there for them. Learning that you have breast cancer is frightening and it becomes a very emotional situation. Show your love for those you know by taking a minute out of your hectic day. Make a call, pay a visit. Let those folks know they are loved and you value them over your busy schedule.

The party's over, and oh, what a party it was! After months of preparation, the Pink Pumpkin Auction was held Thursday night with a packed audience. All those in attendance were anxious to buy and put their money toward breast cancer support and research. The Friends and Family Relay Team appreciates all those who donated items to sell in the silent auction and all those who created beautiful and unique pumpkins for the live auction. We thank all those who helped put this enormous event together. We thank Mike Maske, John Logan, and Little Miss Logan County Luci Bobell for pulling every last dollar out of bidders' wallets. And we thank all those who brought those wallets and were willing to participate in helping such a worthy cause.

More from the Pink Pumpkin Auction in future editions of Lincoln Daily News.
