Peggy Dyson, the administrator for the Education Center for the Visually Impaired invites the community to an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at the Oasis Senior Center, 2810 Woodlawn Road in Lincoln on Monday, May 19th. The open house will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the ribbon cut to be held at 11:30 a.m.

Dyson is bringing the ECVI to Lincoln in an effort to offer education as well as materials and equipment to those who are suffering vision loss. It is a cause she is passionate about and is hoping that with the support of the community, she will be able to offer up to a half dozen special programs geared to assisting those with vision impairment.

All the programs Dyson wants to bring to Lincoln need to be funded through donations from the local community. Currently she is able to offer Magnificent Mondays support and education group on the second Monday of the month, but also hopes to bring programs such as Cooking with Confidence, Health & Wellness programs, Daily Living Skills, Tool Time, and Building relationships.

The community is invited to stop by during the open house on Monday to get to know Dyson and also learn about the programs she hopes to offer in Lincoln.
