On Friday after Christmas, Mary Todd Hallmark merchandise was marked down by 50 percent, with several shoppers taking advantage of the big discount to stock up on items that may not be available much longer.

Julie Tarter, owner of Mary Todd is looking forward to retirement in 2026 and is now selling out the stock in her store.

It's a bittersweet moment for many shoppers, taking advantage of great sales, but at the same time knowing that the popular store in the heart of Lincoln will soon be closing. Tarter says via her social media page that the store will remain open a few more weeks, with intention of clearing out most of her inventory.

The sales continue this weekend, with Mary Todd Hallmark being open today (Friday, January 2nd) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
