2016 LOGAN COUNTY FAIR

LINCOLN DAILY NEWS July 29 - August 6, 2016

Youth Talent Competition

will take place on

Saturday

, August 6 at

12:00 noon

at the Lincoln

Stage (located in the north end of the Expo Building).

The competition has a Junior Division for those

under 14 years of age and a Senior Division for those

between 14 and 22.

Judging for the contest is based on a point system,

with participants can earn points for audience appeal,

on stage presence and overall ability. Prizes will be

awarded for first- through fifth-place finishers in both

classes, and first-place winners will be eligible to go

on to a state competition in January.

As the fair winds down, the

Annual Logan County

Cake Classic

will take place on the

Lincoln Stage

Sunday

, August 7. Bakers will start putting their

cakes in the ovens at 10:00 a.m. Judging begins at

2:00 pm, and the

cakes auction

at

3:00 p.m.

Competitions all day every day

At the heart of the fair are agriculture related

competitions. Scheduled during mornings and

afternoons throughout the week, there will be

livestock shows, open judging events, and 4-H

competitions; as well as skilled arts judged and

Carnival

And what would a fair today be for youth without a

ride on the Ferris Wheel, a higher adrenaline ride, or

winning a stuffed animal. Tinsley’s Amusement will

have a full array of carnival rides and games that spell

summer funtimes.

Tuesday through Thursday

evenings 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Friday and Saturday

, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. Coupons or

$25 wristband.

Sunday

, 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Coupons or $20 wristband.

If you have a big family or you’re on a budget, you

can still get a great taste of the fair. Monday is free,

and Tuesday through Saturday there’s free entry and

parking till noon.

With something for everybody, the 2016 Logan

County Fair packs plenty of family fun into days and

evenings.

At the K of C Open Pavilion on Saturday

The day starts with the Chili Cook-Off, come

taste test to decide ‘Peoples Choice Award,’

noon judging.

Top-off chili with dessert.

“My Favorite

Pie”

contest pies will be auctioned off at

approximately

1:30 p.m.

Step outside the pavilion and work off some

of those calories tossing a few rounds of

Bean Bags

in

Tournament

beginning

1 p.m.

Nap, come back and catch the live band

at

7:30 p.m.,

all at the

Kof C Pavilion

on

Saturday, Aug. 5.
