Lee Boyd, 78, of Lincoln died at 3:13 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2000,
at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln with the Rev. Joseph Hedges and Pastor David
Mitchell officiating.
Burial
will be at Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Boyd was a mental health supervisor at Lincoln Developmental Center
and an inserter at The Courier.
She
was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Lake County, Tenn., a daughter of Homer B.
and Alsia Belle (Johnson) Sadler. She married Earl Richardson Feb.
25, 1939. He preceded her in death. She married John W. Boyd July
18, 1975, in Lincoln. He survives.
Also
surviving are five sons, Leonard (and Dot) Richardson of Cuba, Mo.,
Bobby (and Margaret) Richardson of Pekin, Jerry (and Cork)
Richardson of Delavan, Johnny (and Sue) Richardson of Kansas City,
Kan., Arthur (and Gloria) Hofer of Decatur and Alan Boyd of
Hartsburg; two daughters, Carolyn (and Don) Goforth of Lincoln and
Joann (and Bucky Washam of Lincoln; 20 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (and Mary) Sadler of
Lakeland, Fla.; and a twin sister, Hazel (and Woodrow) Long of Union
City, Tenn.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; one son,
Dallas Richardson; one sister; and two brothers.
She
was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and a volunteer at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Garland
Gupton, 86, of Lincoln died at 4:52 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2000,
at Maple Ridge Health Care Center in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Pastor Larry Maffett officiating.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masonic
services will be at 8 p.m.
Gupton
was a retired farmer. He had also worked in delivery at Lincoln
Developmental Center.
He
was born April 16, 1913, in rural Menard County, a son of Everett
and Lucille (McKinsey) Gupton. He married Mary C. Lloyd April 7,
1946, at Middletown.
One
son, John E. Gupton of Vernon Hills, survives.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
He
was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Middletown; the
Middletown American Legion; Lincoln Masonic Temple, where he was a
32nd degree Mason and past master; Ansar Shrine; Eastern Star, as a
worthy patron; VFW; Consistory; and Amvets.
Memorials

Association.

John
P. Cadwallader, 80, of Decatur died at 2:40 a.m. Friday, March 24,
2000, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral
services will be Monday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln with Glenn Buelter officiating.
Burial
will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Cadwallader
retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. in Mount Zion.
He
served in the U.S. Army-Air Force from 1941 to 1945 as a military
policeman.
He
was born Jan. 9, 1920, at Lincoln, a son of John Penrose and Edith
Rachel (Ederline) Cadwallader Sr. He married Mary L. Boyd Nov. 21,
1948. She survives, in Decatur.
Also
surviving are two daughters, Beverly Helm of Decatur and Janice (and
Fred) Enstrom of Escondido, Calif.; one son, Gary Lynn Cadwallader
of Libby, Mont.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Clifford
Cadwallader of Lincoln; and one sister, Ruth Trummer of Naples, Fla.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He
was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church.
