K. Johnson, 84, of Lincoln died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2000,
at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln with the Rev. Paul Gilmore officiating.
Graveside
services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Cemetery in
Centralia.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Johnson was retired from teaching in the Lincoln school districts.
She
was born Dec. 14, 1915, in Centralia, a daughter of Raymond E. and
Nina (Stonecipher) Krutsinger. She married Paul Johnson in 1935 in
Oakland City, Ind. He preceded her in death.
Surviving
are one son, Jim Johnson of Springfield; one sister, Anne Goin of
Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother and
one daughter.
She
was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, Illinois
Education Association, National Education Association, Dewitt-Logan
County Retired Teachers Association, Lincoln Women’s Club,
Daughters of the American Revolution, Logan County Genealogical
Society, White Shrine of Jerusalem and P.E.O.

Veta
H. Miller, 84, of Lincoln, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 27,
2000, at St. John’s Hospice North in Springfield.
Funeral
services will be Monday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln with the Rev. Herbert W. Coates officiating.
Burial
will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Macedonia, with graveside services at
3 p.m.
Visitation
will be Sunday, April 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Miller was retired from Lincoln Developmental Center.
She
was born March 17, 1916, in Hamilton County, a daughter of Clarence
and Anna (Wageneck) Hall. She married William Melvin Miller Dec. 1,
1940, at Perryville, Mo.
Surviving
are her husband, of Lincoln; one son, Loyd Johnson of Lincoln; two
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
She was the last of her immediate family.
She
was a member of Lincoln Hill Free Methodist Church.

David
W. Leisch, 62, of Lincoln died at 2:46 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2000,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Holland & Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.
Burial
will be at Downing Cemetery in Logan County.
Visitation
will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holland & Barry Funeral
Home in Lincoln.
Leisch
was employed by the Office of the Secretary of State in Springfield.
He
served in the U.S. Army in the 6th Armored Division
during the Korean War.
He
was born July 16, 1937, in Lincoln, a son of Ralph H. and Mildred
(Brown) Leisch.
He
is survived by one sister, Linda Mecham of Bloomington; one niece,
Jodene Beavis of Novato, Calif.; three nephews, Gary Mecham and
Michael Lenardt, both of Bloomington, and Ray Mecham of Schereville,
Ind.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
Leisch
was employed by P.P.G. in Lincoln for 22 years. He was an avid
golfer, a member of the U.S. Golf Association, and worked for
several years in the Pro Shop at the Lincoln Elks Country Club. He
was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lincoln and of
AMVETS.

Loy
Geary, 84, of Lincoln, died at 11:25 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2000, at
Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Holy Family Church
in Lincoln with the Rev. Kenneth Hummel officiating.
Burial
will be at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kerrigan Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the rosary and wake service at 6:45 p.m.
Geary
had been employed at Stetson China Co. in Lincoln, worked as a farm
laborer, owned and operated a hay baler, and worked in the kitchen
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. He retired in 1981.
He
was born July 16, 1915, at Grayson County, Ky., a son of Alva and
Ada (Dugan) Geary. He married Helen Ortzel Aug. 7, 1941. She
preceded him in death Jan. 3, 1998.
Surviving
are one daughter, Barbara Cicci of Lincoln; one son, Michael Geary
of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five
sisters, Ruby Payton and Verna Boyd, both of Beaverdam, Ky., Edna
Holderer of Lincoln, Helen Huchel of Farmer City and Thelma Shivers
of Caneyville, Ky.; one brother, Jim Geary of Lincoln; and a half
brother, Curtis Wilson of Louisville, Ky.
He
was preceded in death by three sons, four brothers and one sister.
He
was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln and a former member of
the Eagles Lodge.
