A number of new developments are
happening at Lincoln Daily News. Here is what has happened recently, and
what we have in store for you in the very near future.
1. Monday
May 1, 2000: Marty
Ahrends joins LDN staff. Marty has
come along-side to manage our Display and Classified ad sales. When you
see her out and about, say howdy.
2. Friday
May 5, 2000: Fuzz Werth joins
LDN reporting staff. You all
would recognize Fuzz as that really nice guy from the local DMV office. In
addition to his incredible ability to be patient with you when you need your
sticker renewed, Fuzz is an accomplished writer. Glad you could join us,
Fuzz.
3. Sometime
here in the month of May:
Rachael Shelley joined our staff (they snuck her in there on me). Welcome,
Rachael. Looking forward to introducing your writing to our readers.
4. Friday
May 19, 2000: We've
moved to a new, faster server with the needed services and disk space to accommodate
the future growth and services we are planning. Yee-hah!
Future events will not necessarily take
place in this order:
5. Near
Future: LDN
Archives online and accessible. All
past LDN stories and features will be online, indexed, and open to the
public. [About time!]
6. Near
Future: Search
Engine installed for local searches through LDN archives. In
addition to being able to read past LDN stories and features, you will be able
to search for names, words and phrases. <<Yow>>
7. Near
Future: LDN
will debut a new pictorial feature which we are sure will get your attention and
keep you coming back. Sorry we can't tell you more -- it would tip off the
other news-guys!
8. Near
Future: LDN
is planning several multimedia features which you will find irresistible.
Sights and sounds will be coming your way, live. [Our crack scientists are
working on smells, too, but we still have a long way to go].
9. Near
Future: LDN
is working on some programming which will allow you to easily send articles to
your friends through email. SEND LDN TO A FRIEND!
10. Near
Future: LDN
is working on some new advertising layouts which will be a dynamite way to
advertise your business or service. Keep your eyes peeled for more
details.
In addition to these plans we are
sharing with you, we are also working late to improve on our website, improve
our formatting and make LDN easier to navigate.
