of Lincoln Railer basketball

The
Lincoln Railers began their 2000-2001 season Monday evening with a
victory over Limestone High School during the opening session of the
annual Lincoln Thanksgiving Tournament. Lincoln will play four more
games over this holiday weekend, against the following teams:
Pontiac, Danville, Rockford Guilford and Rockford Jefferson. Lincoln
High School has compiled an incredible 97-18 record the last four
seasons, highlighted by a trip to the Elite Eight during the 1998-99
season. What will this season have in store? Only time will tell,
but the LDN was able to sit down with varsity assistant coach Eric
Ewald on Monday afternoon and assess the state of Lincoln Railer
basketball.

The
Gateway Conference has announced that Lincoln's Andy King has been named
Offensive Lineman of the Week as a result of ISU's 40-7 drubbing of Southwest
Missouri State University.

beach bullies kick sand in Maryland's
face

Former
Lincoln College star Marcus Griffin broke out with a huge game Tuesday,
finishing the night with 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Illinois to a
convincing 90-80 spanking of the Maryland (1-1) Terrapins. Other big men doing
the job included our own Brian Cook, with 11 points and nine rebounds.

College vs. Black Hawk

Lincoln
College rolled to a 92-56 victory over Black Hawk Tuesday night at the Lincoln
gym. The victory raises the men's record to 4-1 for the season. The Lynx are in
action Nov. 23-25 at the Three Rivers Tournament.

Preachers 80, Greenville 76
[NOV.
22, 2000]
The
Preachers hit the floor again in their ninth game of the season, and the floor
was hot as they waged battle here in Lincoln with Greenville. Lincoln maintained
a narrow lead at the end of each half and won the game by 4 points. In the first
half, Lincoln scored 34 points and Greenville scored 31. Coach Randy Kirk
highlighted Dante Watson for his performance during the first half of the game.
In the second half Lincoln made 46 points and Greenville made 45. The final
score of the game was 80-76.

College vs. Black Hawk

Fourteen
Lincoln College women reached the scoring column for coach Carl Wilson as the
Lady Lynx posted an impressive 72-52 victory against Black Hawk Tuesday night at
Lincoln. The victory runs the Lynx record to 5-1. Black Hawk East will be
the next opponent for the Lady Lynx, Nov. 29, at Lincoln.
