Katelyn Wilson

Katelyn Delaney Wilson, 3, of Lincoln died at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, with the Rev. Oscar Owens officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Katelyn was born Nov. 21, 1997, in Peoria to Bill and Kim Hunt Wilson.

Surviving are her parents, of Lincoln; three brothers, Brandon Cordell of Lincoln, Christopher Wilson of Bloomington and Aaron Wilson of Austin, Texas; three sisters, her twin, Kyla Jefferies of Morton, Jaeda Wilson of Lincoln and Kari (and Richard) Dixon of Burlington, Wis.; and her maternal grandmother, Phyllis Hunt of San Jose.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Raymond Hunt, and her paternal grandparents, Otha and Bonnie Wilson.

Alice Mote

Alice L. Mote, 94, of Lincoln, died at 8:23 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at her home.

Her funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1906, in West Lincoln Township to Harry C. and Louis Coorts Schrader. She married E. Dean Mote in Jacksonville on March 17, 1935. He died June 3, 1979.

Surviving is one sister, Ruth Apel of Lincoln.

Mrs. Mote was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to her church.


Dorothy Huffman

Dorothy Huffman, 71, of Locust Grove, Va., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at Fredericksburg, Va.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, with the Rev. Robert Paddack officiating.

Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Miss Huffman was born March 23, 1930, to Asa and Mary Huffman.

Surviving are one brother, Donald Huffman of Ocean Springs, Miss., and two sisters, Mildred Robbins of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Marilyn Kaar of Locust Grove, Va.

Memorials may be made to Orange County Animal Shelter, 19271 Constitution Highway, Orange, VA 22960, or to the shelter of the donor's choice.

Robert Bowersock

Robert L. Bowersock, 70, of Mason City died at 8:38 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at his home.

Bowersock was cremated. Burial of ashes will be in Mason City Cemetery. A graveside service, with military rites, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, with the Rev. Patrick Clough officiating.

There is no visitation. Hurley Funeral Home, Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.

Bowersock retired from the Illinois State Police in 1985. He had worked as a security guard for Illinois Govs. Kerner, Shapiro, Ogilvie, Walker and Thompson, as well as State Comptroller George Lindberg.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was born Feb. 18, 1931, in rural Menard County to Roy and Hazel Hinds Bowersock. He married Virginia (Jean) Hadsall on Aug. 9, 1961, in Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael (and Misty) Bowersock of Mason City and Brian Bowersock of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Robin (and Jon) Barr of Pekin and Jo (and John) Adams of Mason City; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  an infant brother, a stepdaughter and a great-grandson.

He graduated from Mason City High School, the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield and the Secret Service Agency in Washington, D.C.

Memorials may be made to American Legion, hospice or Mason City Area Nursing Home.


Martha Bair

Martha B. Bair, 94, of Elkhart died at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at the Villa East in Sherman.

Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Elkhart United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Beth Tickner officiating.

Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service.

Holland and Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bair was owner and operator of the Elkhart Grill in Elkhart. She retired in 1974.

She was born April 20, 1907, in rural Farmersville to Mont and Flora Manning. She married Jacob Bair in Decatur on June 13, 1947. He died Nov. 20, 1966.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (and Duane) Richardson of Southgate, Mich.; one son, Dean Bair of Springfield; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a member of Elkhart United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to her church.
