Ethel
M. Ulrich, 93, of Chestnut died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001,
at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski.
Her
funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Chestnut
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carol Andricks officiating.
Burial
will be in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service at the church.
Mrs.
Ulrich was a homemaker. She was also a Chestnut Grade School cook
for nine years.
She
was born Feb. 12, 1908, in Luther, Tenn., to Kelly C. and Hattie
Moore Odom. She married Avoldt Ulrich in Lincoln on Dec. 12, 1928.
He died Jan. 9, 1973.
Surviving
are one brother, the Rev. James H. Odom of Arlington Heights; one
niece, Doris (and George) Kath of Cooksville; three nephews, Ralph
(and Jayne) McBrayer of Ellsworth, Dennis (and Adele) Odom of Vernon
Hills and David (and Jennifer) Odom of Maryland; one sister-in-law,
Margaret Odom of Alabama; two grandnieces; and three grandnephews.
She
was also preceded in death by one sister, two brothers, one nephew
and two grandnephews.
She
was a member of Chestnut United Methodist Church and the Logan
County Home Bureau.
Memorials

Dudley
Porter Cooper, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Berryville, Ark., died at
3:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
Cooper
was cremated. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Mount
Carmel Cemetery, El Paso, Texas.
There
is no visitation.
Arrangements
are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Cooper
was a retired U.S. postal worker.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He
was born Sept. 15, 1916, in Hammond to Paul and Mary Ethel Dudley
Cooper. He married Severina Maria Rodriguez. She died in 1989.
Surviving
are two sons, Robert (and Marsha) Cooper of Lincoln and Raymond
Cooper of Northbrook; three grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Clark of Lincoln, formerly
of Berryville, Ark.
Memorials
