Marianna
Lessen, 71, of Hartsburg died at 7:47 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001,
at her home.
Her
funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Hartsburg
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Doug Rettig officiating.
Burial
will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln and Thursday at the church during the hour before the
service.
Mrs.
Lessen was a homemaker for her family.
She
was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Menard County to Victor and Mary
McCormick Becker. She married Robert F. Lessen on May 1, 1954.
Surviving
are her husband, in Hartsburg; four sons, Richard (and Karen) Lessen
of Delavan, Jerry Lessen of Lincoln, Duane (and Sally) Lessen of
Delavan and Eldon (and Martha) Lessen of Hartsburg; nine
grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Becker of Middletown.
She
was a member of Hartsburg United Methodist Church, Hartsburg United
Methodist Women, Land of Lincoln Quilters Association and Quilters
at Heart Quilt Guild.
Memorials
may be made to Hartsburg United Methodist Church or Hartsburg Rescue
Squad.

White
Lois
M. White, 87, of Mount Pulaski died at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11,
2001, at Vonderlieth Living Center.
Her
funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Marvin Mungle
officiating.
Burial
will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Mount
Pulaski.
Mrs.
White retired in 1980 after 30 years of employment with Lehn and
Fink in Lincoln.
She
was born May 25, 1914, in rural Mount Pulaski to Isaac J. and
Margaret Wilson Huston. She married Jewell White on Feb. 19, 1949,
in Lincoln. He died May 7, 1976.
Surviving
are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Erma (Donald) Huston of Mount Pulaski, and
several nieces and nephews.
She
was also preceded in death by three brothers, Casey, Donald and
Norval (Bill) Huston.
She
was a member of Latham Baptist Church.
Memorials
may be made to Vonderlieth Living Center Activity Fund, Hospice Care
of Illinois or Latham Baptist Church.

Bidner
Earl
Randel Bidner, 92, of Lincoln died at 7:35 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9,
2001, at the Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.
His
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. John
United Church of Christ in Lincoln, with the Rev. Rich Reinwald
officiating.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home.
Bidner
was a grain and livestock farmer in Logan County.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He
was born March 1, 1909, in Bellflower to Elmer and Anna Randel
Bidner. He married Ruth Bloes on Jan. 21, 1950, in Lincoln. She
preceded him in death.
Surviving
are one daughter, Verdeen Ingram (and husband Larry) of Lincoln, and
two grandchildren, Shanda Ingram of Pensacola, Fla., and Orry Ingram
of Lincoln.
He
was also preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Bidner.
He
was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the church’s
Brotherhood. He was a former Sunday School superintendent and did
considerable missionary work for his church. He also delivered meals
for Community Action.
He
had served as chairman of the building committee for Osman Lutheran
Church in Osman and was a member of the American Legion at
Bellflower.
He
was a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau.
He
enjoyed flower arranging and was a member of the Central Illinois
Rose Society.
He
was also an avid bowler.
