Eldred
L. “Spud” Leinweber, 79, of San Jose died at 6:35 a.m. Sunday,
Jan. 23, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
His
funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manito, with the Rev. Donald Hinkel
officiating.
Burial
will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason
City.
Leinweber
was a farmer in Mason County.
He
was born Nov. 21, 1922, in San Jose to Casper and Wilhelmina
Gathmann Leinweber. He married Ruth L. Jacob at St. Luke’s Church
in San Jose on Sept. 22, 1946. She survives.
Also
surviving are one son, Mark W. (and wife Vicky) Leinweber of San
Jose; one daughter, Rosemary K. (and husband Jim) Frazee of
Beardstown; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one
brother, Edwin Leinweber of Mason City.
He
was preceded in death by one son, Roger C. Leinweber, and one
brother.
He
was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manito.

Beulah
Smith
Beulah
G. Smith, 91, of Mason City died at 8:11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Her
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Hurley
Funeral Home in Mason City, with the Rev. William Boyce officiating.
Burial
will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ms.
Smith worked in Detroit on an assembly line building planes during
World War II and later cared for young children and the elderly in
Mt. Vernon and throughout central Illinois.
She
was born July 22, 1910, in Galt, Mo. to Otis and Vesta Harris Smith.
Surviving
are two sisters, Thelma Ralls of Lansing, Mich. and Kay Macke of
Janesville, Wisc.
She
was preceded in death by one sister.
She
was a member of First Christian church of Mason City.

Huntington
Elton
E. Huntington, 94, of Lincoln died at 8:22 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23,
2001, at Kraus Retirement Home.
His
funeral services will be at Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home,
Ark. Local arrangements are being done by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
He
will be buried in Baxter Memorial Gardens in Mountain Home.
Mr.
Huntington served in the National Guard.
He
was born March 24, 1907, in Milwaukee, Wisc. to Vernon Edward and
Viletta Addington Huntington. He married Isabell Watson in Chicago
on Nov. 17, 1929. She preceded him in death in August of 1997.
He
was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Howard
Huntington.
Surviving
is one son, Vernon Huntington of Lincoln.
Mr.
Huntington was a member of Assembly of God Church in Mountain Home.
Memorials

Bright
Walter
Bright, 90, of Lincoln died at 12:05 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the First
Baptist Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Henderson
officiating.
Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bloomington.
Visitation
will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.
Arrangements
are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Bright
taught chemistry and physics for 28 years. He retired from Princeton
High School in 1973. After retirement he worked in sales of
insurance and real estate for Scott Williams Finn Agency in
Princeton.
He
served as a naval communications officer on transport ships in the
South Pacific during World War II.
He
was born Dec. 20, 1911, in Normal to Bruce and Irene Ethell Bright.
He married Virginia Carriker on June 23, 1940, in Irving.
Surviving
are his wife, of Lincoln; two daughters, Helene (and Jerry) Bales of
Lincoln and Peggy (and Rick) Weinberg of Champaign; four
grandchildren, Patrick Bales of Peotone, Jeremy Bales of Lincoln,
and Brent and Lindsay Weinberg of Champaign; one sister, Elizabeth
Brown of Chesterfield, Mo.; and two nieces.
He
was preceded in death by one brother, Charles, and one sister,
Allene Delaney.
He
was a member of First Baptist Church in Lincoln and the Illinois
State University Half Century Club.
He
graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, where he served
as senior class president. He received his master’s degree from
the University of Illinois.

Lucille Gerard, 85, of Lincoln died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20,

was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Lincoln to Cloyd and Ethel Gerard.

Sanders of Tulsa, Okla., and Veda Johnson Williams of Silo Springs,
Ark.
She
was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Gerard.

Dalores
Kammueller, 86, of Lincoln died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20,
2001, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.
Her
funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Zion Lutheran Church
in Lincoln, with the Rev. William Adam officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs.
Kammueller was a homemaker for her family.
She
was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Lincoln to George and Rose Gehre Maurer.
She married Kenneth Nesbitt in Chicago in 1935. He died in 1959. She
married Edwin J. Kammueller on July 2, 1960, in Springfield. He died
Nov. 26, 1990.
Surviving
are one daughter, Marilyn (and Robert) Cohen of Springfield; one
stepson, James (and Debbie) Kammueller of Peoria; four
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, George Maurer
of Lincoln; and one sister, Vera Mittelstadt of Mount Pulaski.
She
was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
She
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
