[This display of incredible newspaper headlines was made by a junior high student for a school project and then donated.]

[Russian uniform]

[Army footlocker and gear belonging to Bob Welch, former Logan County Board member and longtime supporter of Heritage In Flight Museum]

[Commemorative plate]

[Following World War II, this radio was taken off a decommissioned US destroyer and given to the Brazilian Navy for use. It was eventually returned to the United States when it was no longer of use to the Brazilians.]

[Period magazine and the phone by which so many people waited to hear from their military loved ones.]

[The Sangamon Ordnance plant at Illiopolis produced many of the shells used in World War II.]

[There's lots to see in the World War I room. One of the most honorable and unique items the museum holds is a Purple Heart and accompanying certificate signed by Woodrow Wilson and presented to a local man.]

[A face only a mother could love. This fellow was a regular winner of Gurney contests. Gurney was a little like what Jim Carrey does: facial contortions. The military frequently employed him for their advertisements as seen here.]
