Frances
E. Fait, 95, of Lincoln died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001,
at the Christian Village.
Her
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Paul Gilmore officiating.
Burial
will be in Riverside Cemetery, Illiopolis.
Visitation
will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Lincoln.
Eastern Star services will be at 5 p.m.
Mrs.
Fait was a retired bookkeeper for Archie Fair Refrigeration and a
former schoolteacher.
She
was born Jan. 13, 1906, in Lanesville to James and Cora Veatch
Kinahan. She married Archibald "Archie" Fait on Nov. 30,
1929, in Danville. He died May 23, 2000.
Surviving
are two nephews, Kinahan Rule of Illiopolis and Scott (and Linda)
Fait of Eagle Point, Ore., and three nieces, Jean (and John) Belt of
Naples, Fla., Pam (and Dick) Navarre of Grayslake and Jean Pearson
of Barrington.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one
sister. She was the last of her immediate family.
She
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, a 75-year
member of Eastern Star, Grand Lecturer of Order of the Eastern Star
Emeritus, a member of Chester Women’s Club, Daughters of the Nile
of Springfield and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She
attended Illinois State University.

Horn
Betty
L. Horn, 80, of Atlanta died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001, at
Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Bloomington.
Her
funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Quiram Funeral
Home in Atlanta. The Rev. Jim Warren will officiate.
Burial
will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Horn was employed at Nestle-Beich in Bloomington for several years.
She retired in December 1992.
She
was born Sept. 9, 1920, at Atlanta, to Walter and Mary Buss Cheek.
She married Russell E. Horn on Sept. 5, 1942, in Hannibal, Mo. He
died Dec. 18, 1983.
Surviving
Mrs. Horn are one daughter, Karen Cook of Bloomington; one son,
Bruce Horn of Bloomington; five grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Weldon Cheek of Atlanta, Sharon
Cheek of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mike Cheek of Atlanta; one sister,
Shirley Thoman of Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.
She
also was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and one
brother.
She
traveled all over the world with her husband throughout his career
in the Air Force, raising their family in Colorado, Pennsylvania,
Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Illinois, Argentina, Japan and
Germany.
She
is described as a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly
missed.

A
memorial Mass for Clare Drummy Schall will be at 10 a.m. Saturday,
July 28, at Holy Family Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Thomas Taylor
will officiate.
Mrs.
Schall donated her body to medical science.

Clarence
R. Krusemark, 92, of New Holland died at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday, July 24,
2001, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
His
funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Zion Lutheran
Church in New Holland. Pastor Earl Kinnee and Pastor Mike Kettner
will officiate.
Burial
will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Visitation
will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Krusemark
was a retired farmer. He had farmed in the New Holland area all his
life.
He
was born Feb. 27, 1909, at New Holland to Ernest and Clara
Hilgendorf Krusemark. He married Viola Betzelberger on Feb. 22,
1933, in New Holland. She died March 26, 1989.
Surviving
are two daughters, Lila (and Irwin) Conklen of New Holland and
Joanne (and James) Hawes of New Holland; five grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Elmer and Harold Krusemark
of Emden and Raymond Krusemark of Mason City.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister, Florence;
and three infant great-grandchildren.
He
was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holland. He was
also a member of Logan County Farm Bureau and Richman Community
Club.
He
was an avid gardener and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards.

Boyd

Boyd
D. Read, 88, of Lincoln died at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His
funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Holland
and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. William Adam
officiating.
Burial
will be in Kline Cemetery, Broadwell.
Visitation
will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Read
was a retired CILCO worker, a stores supervisor for 35 years. He
also taught at Read School in rural Broadwell for a number of years.
He
was born March 15, 1913, at Broadwell to John Frank and Nina Day
Read. He married Catharine Mahler on Aug. 21, 1938. She survives, in
Lincoln.
Also
surviving are two sons, Lyle Read of New Holland and John Read of
Hastings, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Mark Read (and Sally) of
Louisville, Ky., Mary Sager (and Andy) of Lincoln, Amy Jones (and
Jeff) of Wickliffe, Ky., Charley Read (and Natalie) of North Aurora,
Andy Read (and Jennifer) of Sycamore, Kate Schleisman (and Damon) of
Fort Campbell, Ky., and Rachel Read of Hastings, Minn.; and nine
great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Nancy Kaye Read;
and one granddaughter, Hannah Day Read.
He
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, the church choir
and CILCO Quarter Century Club.
He
was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Lincoln College.
