Marion ‘Pinger’ Correll

Marion "Pinger" Correll, 86, of Lincoln died at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the service time at the funeral home.

Correll worked for the state of Illinois as a truck driver and in maintenance.

He was born July 29, 1914, in Logan County to Kemper and Mary Esthma (Altizer) Correll.

Surviving Correll are a niece, Carolyn Murphy of Lawndale, Pa., and a nephew, Dick Aery of Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances Aery, Florence Wanty, and Clara and Margaret Correll; and four brothers, Paul, Ray, Leo and Walter Correll.

He was a Protestant.

John Bush

John Henry Bush, 67, of Lincoln died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Lincoln Christian Church, with Dr. Marion Henderson and Tom Gerdts officiating.

Burial will be in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Bush was minister at Pattonsburg Christian Church, Pattonsburg. He also worked for Burns Security at Eaton Corporation in Lincoln. He served as a minister for 47 years in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Brazil.

He was born May 2, 1934, in Medaryville, Ind., to Frank and Mary (Langland) Bush. He married Joyce Bowers on July 24, 1955, in Ellettsville, Ind.

Surviving are his wife, of Lincoln; two daughters, Jane (and Marcus) Work of Lincoln and Janice (and Perry) Fisher of Markle, Ind.; four sons, John Mark (and Judy) Bush of Lima, Jerry Allen (and Linda) Bush of Springfield, James Michael (and Victoria) Bush of Champaign and Jeffrey Paul (Jo Ellen) Bush of Mount Vernon, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Arthur (and Jill) Bush of Winamac, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a member of Pattonsburg Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln Christian College.
