Dan
Bird, 52, of Lincoln died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at
St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
His
funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Jefferson
Street Christian Church, with J.K. Jones officiating.
Burial
will be in West Haven Cemetery in Owosso, Mich. Committal service at
the cemetery will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, with Duane Jones
officiating.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Bird
was on staff as minister of congregational care at Jefferson Street
Christian Church, where he served for three years. He pastored for
15 years at Community Christian Church in Casey.
He
was born April 1, 1949, in Owosso, Mich., to Charles L. and Carole
(Chastain) Bird. He married Elaine A. Telfer on Aug. 16, 1968, in
Lansing, Mich.
Surviving
Bird are his wife, of Lincoln; three sons, Brian T. (and wife Jody)
of Port Charlotte, Fla., Aaron B. Bird (and wife Pandra) of Lincoln
and Collin C. Bird of Lincoln; two granddaughters, Haley Nicole and
Emily Danielle Bird; one brother, Dave (and wife Marcia) Bird of
Owosso, Mich.; and one sister, Nancy Nichols of Owosso, Mich.
Bird
held a master's degree in counseling ministry from Lincoln Christian
College.
Memorials
may be made to Lincoln Christian College and Seminary and to Harvest
Prayer Ministry.

Richner
Jason
Seth Richner, 28, of Hillsboro, formerly of Mount Pulaski, died at
8:45 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, at his home.
His
funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating.
Burial
will be in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.
There
will be no visitation.
Richner
was a superintendent at Naples, Fla., and Illinois golf courses.
He
was born Nov. 5, 1972, in Canton to Michael and Jennifer Richner.
Surviving
are his parents, of Mount Pulaski; one brother, Justin Richner of
Mount Pulaski; his paternal grandparents, Ray and Perle Jo Richner
of Chestnut; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Wanda Brown of
Lincoln; and his paternal great-grandmother, Gwendolyn Morris of
Mount Pulaski.
Memorials
may be made to the United Methodist Church in Lincoln or to the
donor’s choice.

Mosier
Patricia
E. Mosier, 71, of Lincoln died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Her
funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Frank Pieper officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Mosier retired after 35 years as an accountant for Lincoln
Developmental Center and Logan Correctional Center.
She
was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Lincoln to Jesse and Florence H. (Schoof)
Buchanan. She married John T. Mosier on Sept. 4, 1949, in Lincoln.
Surviving
Mrs. Mosier are her husband, of Lincoln; four sons, Charles (and
Sheree) Mosier of Bloomington, Jesse (and Beth) Mosier of New
Holland, Russell (and Tammie) Mosier of Mount Pulaski and Michael
(and Donna) Mosier of Lawrenceville; one daughter, Rhonda (and
Michael) Donovan of Normal; 15 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ronald D. Buchanan of
Watertown, Wis.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert
Buchanan.
She
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln, where she sang
in the choir, was treasurer of the church council and served on the
Women of Immanuel board.

Beverly
J. Rankin, 46, of LeRoy, formerly of Atlanta, was pronounced dead at
4:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at her residence.
A
memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Quiram
Funeral Home, Atlanta, with the Rev. Robert M. Eby officiating.
Visitation
will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She
was cremated.
She
was employed as a certified nurse’s aide at Westminster Village in
Bloomington.
She
was born Feb. 21, 1955, in Lincoln to James L. and Hildur (Huneke)
Tibbs.
Surviving
are her mother, of Atlanta; two sons, Christopher Bell (and Amanda)
of Atlanta and Matthew Bell (and Sue Duncan) of Lincoln; one
daughter, Kimberly Rankin (and Ben Smith) of Lincoln; two
grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Grass (and Paul Ipsen) of
Bloomington and Elizabeth Hunter (and Dan) of Atlanta; and two
brothers, Wayne Tibbs (and Patty) of Atlanta and Mark Tibbs (and
Katrina) of Atlanta.
She
was preceded in death by her father.
She
was president of the UNITE Local 2512. She was also a member of the
First Assembly of God Church in Minier.
She
was an avid NASCAR fan.
She
is described as a devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed
dearly by all and also as a dedicated CNA at the Westminster
Village.
