            M. Caveny, 85, of Lincoln, formerly of Fairfield, died at 2:03 a.m.
            Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in
            Lincoln. Funeral
            services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at St. Edwards
            Catholic Church in Fairfield. Burial
            will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Fairfield. Visitation
            will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in
            Fairfield. Local
            arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
            Home in Lincoln. Mrs.
            Caveny was an art teacher at Southern Illinois University and junior
            college in Fairfield. She
            was born April 24, 1915, at Elgin to Henry and Hazel (Rahn) Ebel.
            She married Robert T. Caveny on July 19, 1941, at Algonquin. He died
            on March 29, 1985. Surviving
            are one daughter, Pat Caveny of Lincoln; one granddaughter, Kathleen
            Kaiser of Belleville; two great-granddaughters, Kamarene Kaiser and
            Leighten Kaiser; and two brothers, Richard Ebel of Algonquin and Dr.
            Wesley James Ebel of Seattle, Wash. She
            was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers. She
            was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Fairfield. Memorials

            Lenz Louis
            Lenz, 89, of Lincoln died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at
            his home. Funeral
            services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at First Presbyterian
            Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Paul Gilmore officiating. Burial
            will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation
            will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Holland
            and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements. Lenz
            was an optometrist in Lincoln from 1941 until his retirement Dec.
            31, 1976. He
            was born March 7, 1911, in Springfield to Oscar and Lydia (Yagow)
            Lenz. He married Farrell Jones on May 30, 1937. She died March 12,
            1993. Surviving
            are one daughter, Linda (Mrs. Todd) Allen of Burr Ridge; one
            granddaughter, Kimberly of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one grandson,
            Scott Reed Allen of Chicago. Lenz
            was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lincoln Elks Lodge, a
            past president of Lincoln Rotary Club and served four years on the
            Lincoln City Council. He
            attended the University of Illinois and graduated from the Illinois
            College of Optometry in 1932. He was associated with Dr. Charles
            Lenz in Springfield from 1932 to 1941, when he established his
            practice in Lincoln. In
            lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian

            Matthews Tyler
            David Matthews, 6, of Lincoln died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28,
            2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral
            services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Holland and
            Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tom Gerdts officiating. Burial
            will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation
            will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Tyler
            was a student at Jefferson School in Lincoln. He
            was born June 28, 1994, in Lincoln to Larry L. and Denise R. (Dalbey)
            Matthews. Surviving
            are his parents; one sister, Sara Marie Matthews of Lincoln; his
            maternal grandmother, Joyce Buss of Lincoln; his paternal
            grandmother, Audrey Matthews of Lincoln; and his maternal
            great-grandmother, Jessie Burge of Elkhart. He
            was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wendell Dalbey;
            his maternal step-grandfather, Bob Buss; his paternal grandfather,
            Ira Matthews; his maternal great-grandfather, Simon Burge; and his
            paternal great-grandmother, Dora Smith. Memorials
            may be made to the Tyler Matthews family.

            Moore Helen
            Marie Moore, 85, of Lincoln died at 10:49 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27,
            2001, in the intensive care unit at St. John’s Hospital in
            Springfield. Funeral
            services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Holland and Barry
            Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating. Burial
            will be in Atlanta Cemetery. Visitation
            will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs.
            Moore was a homemaker and worked as an accountant in the admitting
            office at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She
            was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Lincoln to Oscar and Alma (Booker)
            Wilmert. She married Harold E. Moore in Clayton, Mo., on Feb. 23,
            1938. He died in 1985. Surviving
            are one daughter, Shirley Moore of Aurora, and one grandson. She
            was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Moore, and a brother,
            Wayne Wilmert. She
            was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln, Farm
            Bureau of Logan County, Beason Grain Association and Beason High
            School Alumni Association. Memorials
            may be made to American Heart Association. In lieu of flowers, the
            family asks friends and family to write down a fond memory to share. |
