‘Pete’ Voyles
Eugene
J. "Pete" Voyles, 65, of Tremont died at 1 a.m. Tuesday,
March 6, 2001, near Lodge, Ill.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Kevin Cunningham officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the funeral home.
Voyles
was retired from Ball Foster Glass, where he worked as a machine
operator for 46 years.
He
served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
He
was born April 23, 1935, in Lincoln to Carl and Mary J. (Martin)
Voyles. He married Carol Castile in 1969. She died in June 2000. He
married Brenda Rush on Dec. 15, 2000, in Pekin. She survives, in
Tremont.
Also
surviving are his children, Cheryl (Dennis) Smiley of Louisville,
Ky., Debbie (Brian) Brackney of Lincoln, Teresa Voyles of Lincoln,
Cindy (Jerry) Potter of Sadorus and Jamie Voyles of Hartsburg; one
stepson, Eric Miller of Tremont; two stepdaughters, Tina Brennan in
Illinois and Chris Wampler of Tulsa, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and
four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Maxine
(Danny) Nelson of Lincoln, Donna (Al) Deright of Chestnut and Linda
(Leon) Blair of Lincoln; and one brother, Larry (Jane) Voyles of
Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Gary and Junior
Voyles; and wife Carol.
He
was a Protestant.
He
was a member of the Glass Blowers & Potters Union and an avid
fan of the Cardinals, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt.

Ording
Paul
George Ording, 59, of Decatur, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, March 5,
2001, at his residence.
A
graveside service, with Tom Gerdts officiating, will be at 11 a.m.
Friday, March 9, at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
There
is no visitation.
Ording
was an accountant at ADM in Decatur.
He
was born July 18, 1941, in Appleton, Wis., to Merle and Virginia (Schlingerman)
Ording. He married Terri Pulaski on March 12, 1971, in Bloomington.
Surviving
are his wife, in Decatur; one daughter, Andrea Bartlett of Normal;
and one son, Paul G. Ording II of Little Rock, Ark.
He
was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Ording.
He
was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Knights of Columbus of
Lincoln.

Rosy
L. Drake, 92, of Monmouth, formerly of Elkhart, died at 10:15 p.m.
Friday, March 2, 2001, at her home.
Graveside
services, with the Rev. Beth Tickner officiating, will be at 1 p.m.
Thursday, March 8, at Elkhart Cemetery.
Mott
& Henning Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs.
Drake worked for the state of Illinois for 30 years.
She
was born May 20, 1908, in Pawnee to Edward and Ollie (Turner)
Germann. She married Kenneth Drake in Keokuk, Iowa, in November of
1961. He died Dec. 17, 1991.
She
was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rosella, and her
granddaughter, Janet.
Surviving
are a son-in-law, Wendell Stivers of Monmouth; a stepson, Charles
Drake of Chatham; one grandson; two great-grandsons; three
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She
was a member of the Elkhart Methodist Church.
Memorials

Quisenberry
Thomas
W. Quisenberry, 64, of Emden died at 6:06 a.m. Wednesday, March 7,
2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
There
will be no funeral services.
Visitation
will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial
will be at a later date at Bethel Cemetery, Emden.
Quisenberry
farmed at Union.
He
was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Lincoln to Wayne Lee and Catherine
(Wagoner) Quisenberry. He married Jeanette "Jan" Snyder on
July 3, 1961, in Freeport, Texas. Surviving are his wife, in Emden;
three daughters, Mary (Alan) Burton Quisenberry of Grayslake, Jane
Ryan of Lincoln and Leslie Vonderheide of Middletown; and six
grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and one son, William
Quisenberry.
Memorials
may be made to Alzheimer’s disease research or to Christian
Village Nursing Home.

Alan Cordray, 77, of Hartsburg died at 4:27 p.m. Monday, March 5,
2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral

Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Cordray
was a drill operator and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in
East Peoria in 1982. He worked for Caterpillar 31 years.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in New Guinea,
Luzon and the Philippines and was awarded the Philippine Liberation
Ribbon and one Bronze Star.
He
was born Feb. 11, 1924, in North Salem, Mo., to John and Elsie (Peavler)
Cordray. He married Bonnie L. Batye on July 17, 1953, in Chilicothe,
Mo.
Surviving
are his wife, of Hartsburg; two sons, Alan R. Cordray and Colby L.
(Janice) Cordray of Hartsburg; four daughters, Sandra B. Hall of
Decatur, Paula J. (Terry) Shaver of Bowling Green, Ky., Debra A.
(William) Gilmer of Hartsburg and Vicki L. (James) Adams of Emden;
16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Evelyn) Cordray and
Carl Cordray of Marceline, Mo.; and three sisters, Alma Deskins of
Brookfield, Mo., Ruby (Clelland) Hannah of Linneus, Mo., and Dorothy
(Arthur) Wilson of Minonk.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
He
was of the Christian faith.
