Edna Gonzalez

Edna J. Gonzalez, 75, of Lincoln died at 10:46 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene, Lincoln. The Rev. Greg Wooten will officiate.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 18, 1926, at Heyworth to Benjamin and Mary Peasley Upton. She married Cyril "Shorty" Overbey in 1949. She later married David J. Gonzalez on Jan. 24, 1975, in Lincoln. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Terry (and Theresa) Overbey of Atlanta; two daughters, Dianna Overbey of Galesburg and Linda Overbey of Mount Pulaski; three stepdaughters, Lisa (and Tom) Rippon of Lincoln, Becky (and Mark) Kleinman of Lincoln and Kim (and Kevin) Beeson of Taylorville; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son and 16 brothers and sisters.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Lincoln.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to the American Diabetes Association.

Harry Blaum

Harry "Junior" Blaum, 87, of New Holland, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at St. Clara’s Manor.  

A one-hour visitation is planned for just before the service, which will be at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of New Holland, Monday, Nov. 26.  Burial will follow at Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Blaum retired after 50 years at the restaurant and tavern in New Holland.

He was born at New Holland on April 17, 1914, to Harry L. and Anna Rose Hinck Blaum. 

 Surviving Brown are two brothers, Lynn (and wife Mildred) Blaum and Merle (and Dorothy) Blaum, both of New Holland; and two sisters, Mildred Beaver and Lenora "Sis" Tibbs, both of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gilbert and Loren Blaum.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of New Holland or a charity of the donor’s choice.
