Frances
E. Minton, 97, of Lincoln, formerly of Heyworth and Bloomington,
died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at the Christian Village
in Lincoln.
A
memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at the Christian
Village. Larry Simonson will officiate. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Heyworth Cemetery.
There
is no visitation.
Miss
Minton taught grade school for 44 years, including 38 years as a
first-grade teacher at Raymond School, Bloomington.
She
was born Dec. 3, 1903, in Heyworth to Frank and Martha Tibbs Minton.
She
was the last of her immediate family. A brother, Philip Minton,
preceded her in death.
She
was a member of Eastview Christian Church, Bloomington.
She
graduated from Illinois State University in 1944 with a bachelor’s
degree and from the University of Illinois in 1948 with a master’s
degree. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi national honorary
society.
