Raymond
W. Werschey, 74, of Lincoln died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, April 29,
2002, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville.
Visitation
will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at Kerrigan Funeral Home
in Lincoln, and the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Monsignor Edward
Higgins will officiate.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Werschey
was a production worker at PPG in Lincoln for 25 years. He had also
worked at Stetson China Co. in Lincoln. He retired in 1990.
He
served in the U.S. Army in Korea at the end of World War II.
He
was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Lincoln to John and Nora Sumski Werschey.
He
is survived by one daughter, Mary Cecil of Fallbrook, Calif.; two
grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Werschey of Decatur.
He
was preceded in death by a daughter.
He
was a member of Holy Family Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
1756 and Lincoln American Legion Post 263, all in Lincoln.
Memorial
donations may be made to St. Clara’s Manor Nursing Home in
Lincoln.

Buckles
Norma
Buckles, 79, of Mount Pulaski died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, April 27,
2002, at the Christian Village in Lincoln.
Visitation,
from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, and the funeral, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday,
will be at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
John Robertson will officiate at the service.
Mrs.
Buckles was a homemaker for her family. Before her marriage she was
an elementary teacher in northwest Logan County.
She
was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Robert and Lucille
Hines Swisher. She married Ralph C. Buckles in Burton View on Oct.
4, 1946.
Surviving
Mrs. Buckles are her husband, of Mount Pulaski; two daughters, Susan
Ann Gruen of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeanne Lynn Malone of Mount Pulaski;
one brother, Robert Swisher Jr. of Ste. Marie; two grandsons,
Bradley Gruen of Tulsa, Okla., and Zachary Malone of Mount Pulaski;
and one granddaughter, Kimberly Gruen of Tulsa, Okla.
She
was preceded in death by one daughter, Sonda Gardner.
She
was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church and VFW Auxiliary 777
of Mount Pulaski. She served many years on the committee of the
Voice of Democracy.
She
was a graduate of Lincoln College.

Dahman
Robert
P. Dahman, 74, of Lincoln died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002,
at his home.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
A
graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hewitt Cemetery,
Lovington.
Dr.
Dahman was a retired dentist. He began his practice in Streator, and
then moved to Lincoln in 1968. He retired in 1998.
He
was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He
was born April 29, 1928, in Decatur to Otto and Vivian Timmons
Dahman.
Surviving
Dr. Dahman are four sons, Thomas (and Sheree) Dahman of New Holland,
John Dahman of Edwardsville, Steven Dahman of New Holland and
William Dahman of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; one brother, Richard
(and Pat) Dahman of Maroa; one sister-in-law, Shirley Dahman of
Decatur; and one brother-in-law, Reed Bricker of Decatur.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Dahman, and
one sister, Kathryn Bricker.
He
was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church, Elks Lodge 210
and American Legion Post 263, all in Lincoln.
Memorials
may be made to Elks Crippled Children’s Fund or the fire fund for
American Legion Post 263.

Bunds
George C. Bunds, 87, of
Lincoln, formerly of Topeka, Kan., died Friday, April 26, 2002, at
the Christian Village Nursing Home. Visitation,
from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, and the funeral, at 10 a.m.
Thursday, will be at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, Kan. Tim
Searby will officiate at the service.
Burial will be in West Lawn
Memorial Gardens, Topeka, Kan.
Bunds was a truck driver in
Topeka, Kan. He
was born June 10, 1914, in Hanston, Kan., to Charles N. and Nellie
E. Page Bunds. He married Jessie Violet Bledsoe on Sept. 16, 1937,
in Ozawkie, Kan. She survives in Lincoln. Other
survivors are two sons, three daughters, 14 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
He was a member of Church of
the Brethren and Moose Lodge, both in Topeka, Kan.
