June Naugle

June Naugle, 75, of Lawndale died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.

She was cremated.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Henderson officiating.

Mrs. Naugle was an account technician at the state school in Lincoln before she retired in 1989.

She was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Memphis, Tenn., to Harold and Gladys Dickerson Cook. She married Lloyd Alexander in 1951. She later married Meryl "Oli" Olinger, in 1966, and he died in 1968. She then married Glen E. "Scoop" Naugle on March 17, 1971, in Lincoln. He died Aug. 5, 1992.

Survivors are one daughter, Cheryl Wagner of Graham, Wash.; five grandchildren, John Montgomery of Lincoln, Kelly Trengove of Marietta, Ga., Jason Clark and Tony Clark of Acworth, Ga., and Quinn Naugle of Springfield; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Cook of Lompoc, Calif.; and one sister, Shirley Tiffany of Winter Haven, Fla.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, William Cook, and one sister, Lela Wells.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She enjoyed raising parrots, throwing darts and playing video poker machines.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois.


Paul Anderson

Paul C. Anderson, 90, of Lincoln died at 4 a.m. Aug. 10, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His memorial Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with Father Thomas Taylor officiating.

Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Anderson retired in 1977. He was a distributor in Lincoln for a major oil company for 19 years, a supervisor for Stetson China Company for 12 years until it closed and was employed 12 years at Lincoln High School.

He was born Jan. 31, 1912, near Middletown in Menard County, to Edmon L. and Sallie Croft Anderson. He married Rosemary Sieb in 1941 in Lincoln. She died in 1966.

Survivors are a son, Joseph P. Anderson of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and a niece, Dorothy Dirks of Athens.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

He was a member of Holy Family Church.

He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and of Brown’s Business College in Springfield.

Mary Tungate

Mary Louise Rakes Tungate, 81, of Lincoln died at 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be Sunday, Aug. 18, at Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville, Ky.

Lillian Taylor

Lillian Gertrude Taylor, 80, of Lincoln died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at the Christian Village.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Tim Searby officiating.

A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Cemetery, Mount Zion.

Mrs. Taylor was an activities assistant at the Christian Village in Lincoln before she retired.

She was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Mason City to Carl and Anna Jones Gregory. She married Harry Donald Taylor on Dec. 6, 1944, in Evansville, Ind. He died June 23, 1975.

Survivors are three daughters, Marianna Taylor, Alice Taylor and Marcy Miller, all of Lincoln; three sons, Donald "Carl" (and Terry) Taylor of Decatur, David C. Taylor of Key West, Fla., and Douglas H. Taylor of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (and Dorothy) Gregory of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and one sister, Aldyth Kiesling of Havana.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Howard Gregory, and one sister, Lois Gregory.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and was active with the Harvest of Talents. She was also a member of the Christian Village Auxiliary and an active volunteer for the Christian Village.

Memorials may be made to Harvest of Talents or the Christian Village.
