Mary Tungate
Mary Louise Rakes Tungate, 81, of
Lincoln died at 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be Sunday,
Aug. 18, at Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville, Ky.
She was a homemaker for her family.
She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in
Bradfordsville, Ky., to Turner and Renee Veatch Rakes. She married
Oscar Tungate in December 1939 in Bradfordsville, Ky. They were
divorced, and he lives in Lebanon, Ky.
Family members are seven sons, Hugh
Campbell Tungate, Jerry Lee Tungate, Donald Millerd Tungate and Gary
Tungate, all of Bradfordsville, Ky., Darnell Tungate of Lebanon,
Ky., and Rue Tungate and Billy Tungate, both of Emden; two
daughters, Judy Tungate Leckrone of Kentucky and Edna Louise
Brewster of St. Mary, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; and 27
great-grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Naugle
June Naugle, 75, of
Lawndale died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at St. Clara’s
Manor in Lincoln.
She was cremated.
There will be a
graveside service at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at Zion Cemetery,
Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Henderson officiating.
Mrs. Naugle was an
account technician at the state school in Lincoln before she retired
in 1989.
She was born Feb. 26,
1927, in Memphis, Tenn., to Harold and Gladys Dickerson Cook. She
married Lloyd Alexander in 1951. She later married Meryl "Oli"
Olinger, in 1966, and he died in 1968. She then married Glen E.
"Scoop" Naugle on March 17, 1971, in Lincoln. He died Aug. 5, 1992.
Survivors are one
daughter, Cheryl Wagner of Graham, Wash.; five grandchildren, John
Montgomery of Lincoln, Kelly Trengove of Marietta, Ga., Jason Clark
and Tony Clark of Acworth, Ga., and Quinn Naugle of Springfield;
three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Cook of Lompoc, Calif.;
and one sister, Shirley Tiffany of Winter Haven, Fla.
She was also preceded
in death by one brother, William Cook, and one sister, Lela Wells.
She was of the
Protestant faith.
She enjoyed raising
parrots, throwing darts and playing video poker machines.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of
Illinois.

Raymond Galbraith
Raymond Galbraith,
71, of Chestnut died at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at his home.
A memorial service
will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Richard Stamm officiating.
There will be no
visitation.
Burial will be at a
later date.
Galbraith worked as a
forklift operator at Wagner’s Casting in Decatur.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War.
He was born July 8,
1931, in Nokomis to Luther and Ruth Mansfield Galbraith. He married
Marie Bennett in Taylorville on Feb. 6, 1954.
Family members are
three daughters, Loretta Franceschini of Clinton, Vicky Moore of
Clinton and Linda Bailey of Chestnut; one son, John Galbraith of
Mount Pulaski; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two
sisters, Jerry Lesko of Pana and Leola Miller of California.
He was preceded in
death by two brothers and one sister.
He was a member of
Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut.
Memorials may be made to the American
Cancer Society.

Henry "Hank" Aldag
95 year-old Henry “Hank” Aldag of Chatham,
passed away Friday at Lynncrest Manor, Auburn. Visitation for Aldag
will take place from 4 – 7 p.m., Sunday at Staab Polk Memorial Home,
201 South Grand, Rt. 4, Chatham. Henry will lie in state from 9
until 10 a.m., Monday when his funeral service will begin at St.
John’s Lutheran Church, 1225 N. Main Chatham. Rev. Glenn
Strohschein will officiate. Burial will be at Chatham Cemetery,
Chatham.
Aldag was born to John and Margaret Koester
Aldag on November, 27, 1906. He married Henrietta Sprinkel in 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Barbara (Donald) Semple, New
Holland; Sharon McCullough, Lincoln; a step daughter, Mrs. Bonnie
(Donald) Ladage, Chatham; a stepson, Conrad (Joyce) Garlo, Ormond
Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces
and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents,
his first wife, Catherine Allison Aldag, 1 brother, John Aldag and 3
sisters, Rebecca Aper, Elizabeth Ulfers, and Margaret Klockenga.
Aldag farmed in New Holland and Logan County
area most of his life retiring in 1979. He was very proud to have
raised Hereford cattle. He was also a self-employed carpenter. He
served 39 month for the Army during WW II and 34 month of those
months in Algiers, Africa advancing to the rank of tank Sgt. He
also worked in Gen. Eisenhower’s office. He received a plaque for
being a member of the “Best signal corp company” in the US Army.
Henry always went above the call of duty.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church
in Chatham, American Legion Post 715 in New Holland where he was a
member for 58 years, and Sangamon County Farm Bureau.
