Mark Wendell
Mark T. Wendell, 43,
of New Holland died at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital at 6:06
p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, as the result of an auto accident on
Fifth Street Road.
Visitation will be
from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Street Christian Church in
Lincoln.
His funeral will be
at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with J.K. Jones officiating.
Burial will be in
Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Arrangements are
being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Wendell was a
truck driver for USF Holland Freightways in Lincoln and farmed in
Sheridan Township.
He was born June 1,
1959, in Lincoln. He married Sheryl Clayton on June 19, 1982, in
Mount Pulaski.
Surviving are his
wife, of New Holland; one son, Clayton, and one daughter, Cori, both
at home; and his mother, Lorraine Fue Wendell of Lincoln.
He was preceded in
death by his father, Norman Paulus.
He was a member of
Logan County Mount Police, Logan County Underwater Search and
Recovery, National Sporting Clay Association, Harley Owners Group
Association and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.
He attended Jefferson
Street Christian Church in Lincoln.
He enjoyed boating,
fishing, snowmobiling and radio-controlled airplanes.

Kenneth Horney
Kenneth E. "Ken"
Horney, 62, of Middletown died at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at
St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
His funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the Rev. Allan Dean officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to
11 a.m.
Burial will be in
Lucas Chapel Cemetery, rural Lincoln.
Mr. Horney was an
electrician for Cutler Hammer/Eaton Corp. for 37 years.
He was born July 24,
1940, in Lincoln to Harry F. "Pat" and Emmagene Tompkins Shrode. He
married Joyce Boyer on June 3, 1960, in Lincoln.
Survivors are his
wife, of Middletown; his stepdad, Everett Horney, who adopted Ken;
one sister, Patsy Stout of Lawndale; his goddaughter, Michelle
Boyer; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was a member of
the Middletown Presbyterian Church.
Memorials may be made to the church or to
Middletown Rescue Squad.
