One dies in single-vehicle accident at Mount Pulaski

[DEC. 16, 2002]  A 21-year-old who grew up in Mount Pulaski was declared dead at 11:40 p.m. at the scene of a single-vehicle accident Friday evening. David White was a passenger in the vehicle. White had recently moved to Clinton.

The name of the driver, his injuries, arrest information and other details about the accident are not being released until a full report has been gathered.

The accident occurred in front of Stahl’s at the Route 54 spur. The vehicle was said to be eastbound at the time of the accident and was a roll-over.

The accident is under investigation by the Logan County coroner’s office and Logan County sheriff’s office, with Sgt. Wayne Hildebrandt lead investigator. The state of Illinois accident reconstructionists were also called in to collect evidence. The coroner’s office reported that an autopsy is being performed and an inquest will be scheduled when test results have been returned, in about two weeks.
