Herman
H. Conrady, 94, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Hartsburg, died at
8:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at St. Joseph Health Center in
St. Charles, Mo.
His
funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church
in Hartsburg, with Jim Conrady and the Rev. David Russell
officiating.
Visitation
will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Burial
will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Conrady
was superintendent of public schools for Logan, McLean and Cook
counties in Illinois. He wore all the hats of education during his
41 years in that field, including bus driver, coach, janitor,
teacher, counselor and mentor.
He
was born Nov. 14, 1907, in Hartsburg to Frank J. and Angeline
Janssen Conrady. He married Marjorie Nall on Dec. 13, 1930, in
Lincoln. She died Jan. 31, 1989.
Surviving
are one son, James H. Conrady of St. Charles, Mo.; eight
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He
was also preceded in death by two sons; four brothers, Frank, John,
Ben and Frank J. Conrady; and five sisters, Tena Klockenga, Siede
Rademacher, Tosie Brummer, Anna Grussing and Angeline Bolin. He was
the last of 10 children.
He
graduated from Musik School and Hartsburg Community High School. He
received degrees from Illinois College and the University of
Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
He
was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hartsburg and
Pilgrim Faith United Church of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Memorials
may be made to the H.H. Conrady Jr. High School Memorial Fund.
Pauline
Strampp
A
memorial service for Pauline Strampp has been scheduled for 2 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 10, at St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln. The
Rev. Richard Reinwald will officate.
Miss
Strampp, 89, of Lincoln died at 12:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at
St. Clara’s Manor.
Cremation
rites were accorded and burial is in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Holland and Barry Funeral Home of Lincoln handled local
arrangements.
Miss
Strampp devoted her life’s work to the Odd Fellows Children’s
Home in Lincoln, where she was executive secretary. She worked there
from 1938 until she retired in 1995.
She
was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Mount Pulaski to George and Anna Turk
Strampp.
She
is survived by two nephews, Tim Strampp of Hickory Hills and Joseph
Strampp of Wilmington, N.C.
She
was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Bill and Robert Strampp.
She
was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln.
She
was a member of the Orphans Home Rebekah Lodge for over 50 years.

Wilham
Louise
Wilham, 85, of Mount Pulaski died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6,
2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Mount Pulaski.
Her
funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home
in Mount Pulaski, with John Robertson and Bill Shanle officiating.
Burial
will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, rural Mount Pulaski.
Mrs.
Wilham was a homemaker and farmer.
She
was born Jan. 10, 1917, at Lake Fork to Charles Edward and Icy Oleta
Bell Mason. She married Cecil L. Wilham in Springfield on July 18,
1936. He died Oct. 27, 1996.
Surviving
are one son, Wayne (and wife Mabel) Wilham of Mount Pulaski; two
daughters, Kay (and husband Richard) Durchholz of Mount Pulaski and
Barbara (and Leroy) Radcliffe; nine grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three
brothers, William (and Verna) Mason of Lincoln, Charles E. Mason of
Taylorville and Glen (and Dorothy) Mason of Mount Pulaski; four
sisters, Nola (and Ray) Peterson of Mount Pulaski, Grace Fout of
Lincoln, Lilly Mae (and Gene Ray) Faith of Sullivan and Frances
Mason of Lincoln; and a great-uncle, Virgil Bell of Prescott Valley,
Ariz.
She
was also preceded in death by one brother, two grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
She
was a member of Copeland Christian Church.
Memorials
may be made to Mount Pulaski Christian Church, Vonderlieth Activity
Fund or Mount Pulaski Fire Department.
