Emmagene Horney

Emmagene Horney, 82, of Lincoln died at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral service, with Tim Searby officiating, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Mrs. Horney was a bookkeeper for area banks and for Wilham Construction. She retired from Wal-Mart in Lincoln.

She was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Lincoln, to Ernest and Phoebe Beaver Tompkins.

She married Everett Horney in Beason on Feb. 12, 1950.

Surviving are her husband, of Lincoln; one son, Kenneth (and wife Joyce) Horney of Middletown; one daughter, Patsy Stout of Lawndale; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward (and Doris) Tompkins of Mesquite, Nev.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. In the American Legion Auxiliary, she was a past president Chestnut-Beason 848, Logan County Council 17th District, where she served as Christmas gift shop chairman, and Fourth Division.

Memorials may be made to Logan County Cancer Society or Lincoln Christian Church.

Eugenia Wilson

Eugenia G. Wilson, 89, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Lincoln, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Kearney Mesa Convalescent Home in San Diego.

She was born Jan. 2, 1913.

Funeral services are pending at Kerrigan Funeral Home in Lincoln.
