Lynn Moehring, 54, of Urbana, formerly of San Jose, died at 6:51
p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Manor Care in Urbana.
Visitation
will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Hurley Funeral Home
in San Jose.
Her
funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church,
rural San Jose, with the Rev. Robert Mroska officiating.
Burial
will be in Greenhill Cemetery, San Jose.
Mrs.
Moehring had been employed at Berns, Ciancy and Associates in Urbana
for the past four years.
She
was born May 18, 1947, in Pekin to Carl and Alma S.
"Billie" Crawford Pfeiffer. She married Dale Moehring on
Nov. 23, 1968, in Delavan. He survives.
Also
surviving are two daughters, Monica Moehring of McHenry and Nicole
Moehring of Valparaiso, Ind.; her father and stepmother Val, in
Pekin; and one brother, Gary Pfeiffer of Moville, Iowa.
She
was preceded in death by her mother.
She
was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Thomasboro.

Ann Fricke, 44, of Mount Pulaski, formerly of Lincoln, died at 3:30
p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Her
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, from the Mount
Pulaski Christian Church, with John Robertson officiating.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
Burial
will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
Mrs.
Fricke was developmental training coordinator with DeWitt County
Human Resource Center.
She
was born Oct. 1, 1957, in Lincoln to Henry and Donna Kromminga
Lessen. She married Bill Fricke on Dec. 5, 1983, in San Antonio,
Texas.
Surviving
are her husband, of Mount Pulaski; two sons, Matthew William Fricke
and Erik Kristoff Fricke, both of Mount Pulaski; her parents, Henry
and Donna Lessen of Lincoln; one brother, Terry (and wife Shiela)
Lessen of Lincoln; one sister, Pamela (and husband Dean) Bismark of
Kirkwood; one niece; four nephews; two great-nieces; and four
great-nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She
was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church. She was also a
committee member of the Boy Scouts of America Mount Pulaski Troop
122, Cross Roads District, WD Boyce.

Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
Her
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist
Church of Chestnut with the Rev. Carol Andricks officiating.

will be in McClimans Cemetery, Hallsville.
Mrs.
Whiteside was a homemaker.
She
was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Chestnut to Clark and Rosetta Baker
Fletcher. She married Charles Lauerence Whiteside in Havana on June
14, 1930.
Surviving
are one daughter, Schawanda (and husband Donald) Grimes of Mount Ayr,
Iowa; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Bahn of Lincoln.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and two sisters.
She
was a member of Chestnut United Methodist Church.

Merlyn
Heyen Merlyn
C. Heyen, 71, of Lincoln died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002,
at Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln. Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home. His
funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Heyen
worked for the University of Illinois Extension Service for 35
years. He retired in 1987. He
was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Middletown to Carl and Viola Diersing
Heyen. He married Helen Boward on June 7, 1952, in Middletown. She
survives. Also
surviving are one son, Keith Heyen of Crystal Lake, and two
grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by one brother, Delbert Heyen, and one sister,
Carolyn Heyen. He
was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Starting
late in 1992, Merlyn and his wife, Helen, served on an ad hoc
committee to study the feasibility of organizing a county food
pantry sponsored by a coalition of local churches. When the
Lincoln/Logan County Food Pantry opened in May of 1993, the Heyens
became the first volunteers to manage the food pantry. The coalition
has grown to 31 churches, and the Heyens have continued to provide
leadership in this organization. Heyen
received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University
of Illinois. Memorials

Florine
O. Elliott, 89, of rural Armington died at 9:37 a.m. Sunday, Jan.
27, 2002, at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Armington Christian Church.
Her
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Vernon L.
Oakley officiating.
Burial
will be in Hieronymus Cemetery, rural Armington.

Miss
Elliott taught 40 years in Illinois schools and retired in 1977.
She
was born Aug. 1, 1912, at Armington to Clinton and Bessie Bell
Elliott.
Surviving
are one sister, Maxine (and husband Harry) Rogers of Armington; two
nephews, Dennis Lynn Rogers of Melbourne, Fla., and Elliott Duane
Rogers of Armington; seven great-nieces and nephews; and one
great-great-niece.
She
was preceded in death by one niece, Bonita Harkrider.
She
received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from
Illinois State University in Normal.
She
taught at White Hall, Atlanta, Pleasant Hill, East Peoria, Rose
Hill, Morton, the Gaines school, Minier, a Brockton school,
Waynesville Grade School, Hittle Township High School, Armington,
Hopedale High School and Olympia High School, rural Stanford.
She
was a 74-year member of the Armington Christian Church and a
lifelong Sunday School teacher. She also held membership in the
Armington Woman’s Club, Illinois Business Teachers Association and
Illinois Retired Teachers Association and was an honorary member of
Delta Pi Epsilon.
She
and a lifelong friend, Winona Wyatt (deceased), traveled extensively
throughout the world. They visited 49 of the 50 states, the Holy
Land, Canada, Europe, the Soviet Union, Mexico and Japan.
Memorial

charity of the donor’s choice.
