Rita Woodard
Rita Belle Woodard, 81, of Lincoln died
at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
The visitation and funeral will be
Friday, July 5, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Hours for visitation are 9 to 11 a.m., and the funeral will follow
at 11, with Tom Gerdts officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mrs. Woodard was a homemaker and worked
for Stetson China Factory in Lincoln.
She was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Ewing to
Noah and Katie Miller Boyd. She married Lyle W. Woodard on Aug. 4,
1939, in St. Louis, Mo.
Surviving Mrs. Woodard are her husband,
of Lincoln; two sons, Jack (and Judy) Woodard of Lincoln and Jerry
(and Linda) Woodard of Lincoln; four grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Boyd, Cecil Boyd and Don
Boyd, all of Lincoln; and one sister, Midge Woodard of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by four
brothers.
She was a member of Lincoln Christian
Church.
Memorials
may be made to Maple Ridge Health Care Centre, Lincoln.

William Dale Clapp
William Dale Clapp, 64, of Lincoln died
at 3 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday, July 2, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Pastor Paul Ayappa
officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Clapp was a commercial truck driver for
40 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to
1962.
He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Colorado
Springs, Colo., to William and Treva Davenport Clapp. He married
Anna Clenin on Sept. 24, 1982, at Funks Grove.
Surviving are his wife, of Lincoln;
four sons, William Say of Aurora, Capt. David (and Juliete) Clapp of
Fort Bragg, N.C., William "Bill" (and Sam) Clapp of Joliet and
Andrew Clapp of Lincoln; three daughters, Katherine (and Lester)
Larson of Gardner, Wendy (and Robert) Clapp-Hataburda of LaPorte,
Ind., and Susan (and Leonard) Harmon of Lake Fork; eight
grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl (and Mark) Ages of Craig, Colo.;
and his aunt Lavaughn "Donnie" Clapp of Colorado Springs, Colo., who
raised him.
He was also preceded in death by one
brother, Gary.
Memorials may
be made to the William Clapp Memorial Fund.

Wanda Cross
Wanda Clara Mae Cross, 70, of San Jose
died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2002, at her home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, July 2, at Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose.
The funeral service, also at Hurley in
San Jose, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Allen Payne
and the Rev. Clyde Shreve officiating.
Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Mrs. Cross was a homemaker.
She was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Mount
Pulaski to Glenn Clinton and Helen Elizabeth Hardin Gill. She
married Stephen Harold Cross on Dec. 21, 1956, in Lake Fork. He died
Dec. 15, 1989.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen (and
Ann) Cross of Mount Prospect, Terry (and Jenny) Cross of San Jose
and Larry (and Lola) Cross of San Jose; five daughters, Shirley (and
Bob) Carpenter of Pekin, Ethel Cross of Peoria, Sophia Cross (and
her fiance, Jack Stiles) of San Jose, Christine (and Fred) Hull of
Mason City and Glenna (and Ken) Charlier of Glasford; nine
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (and
Esther) Gill of Lincoln, Glenn R. Sr. (and Shirley) Gill of Lincoln,
Rex Gill Sr. of Lincoln and Roger Sr. (and Cynthia) Gill of Emden;
and seven sisters, Betty (and Ron) Hulva of East Peoria, Shirley
(and Darrel) Dambacher of Lake Fork, and Virginia (and the Rev.
Clyde) Shreve, Joy (and Larry) Horchem, Dorothy (and Jerry)
Dambacher, Marilyn McCray and Ruth Stiles, all of Lincoln.
Mrs. Cross was a member of the San Jose
Methodist Church, San Jose Women’s Club and Royal Neighbors of
America.
Memorial
