            Dorothy Menzel Dorothy E. Menzel, 
            81, of Lincoln died at 11:58 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Abraham 
            Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 
            from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral 
            Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be 
            at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Burial will be in New 
            Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Mrs. Menzel was a 
            housewife. She was born June 25, 
            1921, in Rector, Ark., to Charles D. and Pearl Carter Earle. She 
            married Harry W. Menzel in Malden, Mo., in 1943. He died May 14, 
            2002. Surviving are four 
            sons, Harry Earle (and Jean) Menzel of Kankakee, David (and Pat) 
            Menzel of Springfield, Michael (and Marsha) Menzel of Williamsville 
            and Scott (and Wendy) Menzel of Louisville, Ky.; eight 
            grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of 
            First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and the Ruth Circle of the 
            church. She was a former 
            election judge. Memorials may be made to her church or to 
            Logan County Food Pantry.

            Glenn Buelter Glenn M. Buelter, 74, 
            of Lincoln died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2002, at University 
            Hospital in Columbia, Mo. Visitation will be 
            from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral 
            Home in Lincoln. His funeral, also at 
            Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in 
            Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. Buelter was owner and 
            operator of Lincoln Furniture and Floor Covering in Lincoln. He 
            served many years in ministry as a lay leader in area churches. He was a U.S. Navy 
            veteran of World War II. He was born Aug. 6, 
            1927, in Petersburg to Theodore J. and Florence Catherine Detty 
            Buelter. He married Marilyn J. Rose DeJarnette on Sept. 2, 1965, in 
            Lincoln. She died Sept. 4, 2001. Surviving are two 
            sons, Benjamin Seth Buelter of Peoria and Joseph Daniel (and 
            Rosanna) Buelter of Providence, R.I.; one stepson, William W. (and 
            Taffy) DeJarnette of St. Joseph; three daughters, Joy A. Lemay of 
            Sadieville, Ky., Linda (and Jack) Taylor of Kansas City, Mo., and 
            Sharon Williams of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one 
            great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to American Cancer 
            Research.

            Charles Buse Charles H. Buse, 87, 
            died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Normal Manor Care in 
            Normal. His funeral will be 
            at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City, with 
            the Rev. Bruce Bolin-Ghitalla officiating. Visitation will be one 
            hour before the service. Burial will be in 
            Mason City Cemetery. Buse worked for Eaton 
            Corporation until he retired in 1979. He was also a retired farmer. He was born Oct. 18, 
            1914, in Mason City, to Diedrich F. and Anna Miller Buse. He married 
            Esther Bailey on March 26, 1938. She died March 6, 1981. Surviving are one 
            son, Charles R. (and Janice) Buse of Bunker Hill; one daughter, 
            Roxanna (and Macauley) Nicholes of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; 
            one great-grandchild; and one brother, Bill (and Marilyn) Buse of 
            Mason City. He was also preceded 
            in death by one brother and two sisters. He was a member of 
            First Christian Church in Bloomington, Bloomington Elks Lodge 281 
            and the McLean County chapter of AARP. Memorial contributions may be made to the 
            American Diabetes Association. |
