Ruby Schahl

Ruby E. Schahl, 97, of Mount Pulaski died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Schahl was a homemaker for her family.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski and of the Ladies Circle at the church.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran School.

Carla Renfrow

Carla R. Renfrow, 47, of Lexington, formerly of Waynesville, died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

There will be no visitation.

Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Renfrow was employed at the Alpha Christian Agency in Bloomington.

She was born Oct. 1, 1954, in Lincoln. She married Terry R. Renfrow on Dec. 1, 1972, in Atlanta.

Surviving are her husband, of Lexington; her mother, Barbara Taylor of Waynesville; one son, Mike (and Rachel) Renfrow of Waynesville; one daughter, Malinda (and Jon) Peters of Gridley; four granddaughters, Brittany, Josie, Brooklyn and Kelsey; two brothers, George Taylor and Raymond Eugene Taylor, both of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was an avid gardener and loved flowers.

She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.

Memorials may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Effie Kelly

Effie May Kelly, 95, of St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln died at 2:20 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Arnold Long officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Kelly was a homemaker.

She was born Jan. 14, 1907, in Exeter, Mo., to James Edward and Lucy Metcalf Long. She married Leonard Paul Kelly on Feb. 19, 1929, in Cassville, Mo. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are two children, William R. Kelly and Betty L. Hill, both of Lincoln; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. Arnold Long of Shawnee, Okla.; and one sister, Lorene Erwin of Washburn, Mo.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Long, and one sister, Grace Harris.

She was a Southern Baptist.


Frances Frye

Frances N. Frye, 81, died at 1:32 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Crestview Nursing Home in Clinton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at Holland and Barry on Monday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason.

Mrs. Frye was a homemaker for her family. She was also a licensed practical nurse.

She was born Oct. 3, 1920, at Roselle, Mo., to William F. and Ethel Rosa Massie Inman. She married Clarence C. Frye on Oct. 28, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo. He died Sept. 27, 1995.

Surviving are four sons, Dean Frye of Pekin, Tom Frye of Naperville, James Frye of DeWitt and John Frye of Arvada, Colo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Loretta Thompson of Vilburnum, Mo., and Gertrude Graham of St. Louis, Mo.

She was also preceded in death by six sisters, Patricia Ivanac, Idella Smith, Bess Copeland, Freda Miller, Velva May Hicks, Geneva Miller; one brother, Claude Inman; and five other brothers and sisters who died in infancy or early childhood.

She was a member of Beason United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women.

Memorials may be made to her church.
