Hallie Williams

Hallie J. Williams, 71, of Sherman, formerly of Lincoln, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 23, 1930.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Kerrigan Funeral Home in Lincoln.


Mark Babbitt

Mark Allen Babbitt, 34, of Broadwell died in an accident on Old Route 66, north of Broadwell, on Sunday, June 2, 2002.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will follow at 7 p.m., with Jonathan Rose officiating.

Cremation will follow the service.

Babbitt was an industrial welder.

He was born May 16, 1968, in Chicago to Richard Allen and Nancy Yvonne Sielaff Babbitt.

Surviving are his mother, of Broadwell; his father, of Houston, Texas; one sister, Brenda Babbitt of Broadwell; his paternal grandmother, Myrtle Babbitt of Thorp, Wis.; and one nephew, Justin Babbit of Broadwell.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and his maternal grandparents.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Frances Krause

Frances I. Krause, 88, formerly of Lincoln, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2002, at her home in Carmi.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, with the Rev. David Russell officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Mrs. Krause was an aide at Bartmann’s Nursing Home.

She was born March 15, 1914, in Lincoln to John W. and Theresa A. Ohmes Pfeifer. She married William A. Krause on Oct. 16, 1937, in Lincoln. He died Nov. 14, 1986.

Surviving are three daughters, Donna (and husband John) Swart of San Antonio, Fla., Barbara (and Duane) Wibben of Hartsburg and Koann  (and Richard) Chapman of Carmi; seven grandchildren, Russell Swart of San Antonio, Fla., Dianne (and Dave) Yargus of Dade City, Fla., Jason (and Cindi) Wibben of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Janell Wibben of Hartsburg, William (and Kelli) Chapman of Carmi, Jana Starr of Beaufort, S.C., and Brad (and Nicole) Chapman of Carmi; seven great-grandchildren, Payton and Keyton Yargus of Dade City, Fla., Erick and Emily Wibben of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dustin Wilham of Hartsburg, Bailey Chapman of Carmi, and Elizabeth Starr of Beaufort, S.C.; and one sister, Helen Brosamer of Lincoln.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Hartsburg.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Visiting Nurses Association Hospice of Eldorado.
