Frances Phillips
Frances D. Phillips, 89, of Lincoln
died at 3 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2002, in the emergency room at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be
Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
A service of
thanksgiving for her life and home-going will be Wednesday morning
at 10 at Holland and Barry. Dr. Marion Henderson will officiate.
Burial will be in
County Line Cemetery, Brooks, Ga.
Mrs. Phillips had
worked at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital as a certified nurse’s
aide, was employed in the dietary department at Lincoln
Developmental Center for 13½ years and also did private nursing
care. She retired in 1981.
She was born Jan. 8,
1913, in Brooks, Ga., to Luther Anderson and Maggie Belle Moody
Digby. She married Raymond Phillips on May 28, 1939, in Moreland,
Okla. He died in 1994 in Tennessee.
Surviving are two
sons, Carl N. (and wife Chaille) Phillips of Friendswood, Texas, and
Vernon A. Phillips of Webster, Texas, and 10 grandchildren,
including Daniel Phillips of Bangkok, Thailand, Wesley Phillips of
Chicago and Lewis Phillips of Morris.
She was also preceded
in death by one sister, Alice Moody.
She attended college
three years at Phillips University in Enid, Okla.
She was a member of Jefferson Street
Christian Church in Lincoln.
Frances Roberts
Frances Mantle
Roberts, 95, of Sun City, Fla., a former Lincoln Community High
School teacher, died in April in Sun City.
A memorial picnic
will be at 1 p.m. June 29 at Reliable Lake in McHenry.

Marion ‘Butch’ Yeazle
Marion "Butch" Yeazle,
52, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 23, 2002, at his home in
Knoxville.
Visitation will be
from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Holland and Barry Funeral
Home in Lincoln.
A graveside service
will be at 1:30 p.m. at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln, with the Rev.
Ray Hudson officiating.
Yeazle was a
corrections officer at Hill Correctional Center in Galesburg.
He was born July 28,
1949, in Lincoln to Ralph and Lorene Devine Yeazle.
Surviving are a
daughter, Michelle (and husband Roger) Baldwin of Heyworth; a son,
Jeff (and wife Ginger) Yeazle of Lincoln; two stepsons, Brent
Hanslow of Normal and Brian Hanslow of Shipman; three grandchildren;
and two sisters, Donna (and husband Glen) McCrea of Beason and Janie
(and husband Larry) Voyles of Chestnut.
He was preceded in
death by one brother, Kenny Yeazle.
He was of the
Catholic faith.
In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. |
