Estella
Maxheimer, 89, of Mount Pulaski died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March
20, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Her
funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller
officiating.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service.
Burial
will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
Mrs.
Maxheimer was a homemaker and operated a beauty shop in Mount
Pulaski.
She
was born Jan. 14, 1913, in Lake Fork to Charles S. and Mary Ann Cox
Holmes. She married Phillip Maxheimer on Nov. 23, 1933, in Chestnut.
He died Feb. 9, 1991.
Surviving
are one son, Elwood (and wife Faye) Maxheimer of Chillicothe; one
daughter, Janice Stoltzenburg of Decatur; six grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Tendick of Rochester,
Minn.
She
was also preceded in death by two sons, eight brothers and five
sisters.
She
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski.

Gertrude
Waterstreet, 94, of Lincoln died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 20,
2002, at the Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.
Services
will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Holland and Barry Funeral
Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service time.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs.
Waterstreet was a retired teacher. She had taught in elementary
schools in Normal and in Milwaukee, Wis.
She
was born Jan. 18, 1908, in Lebanon, Ill., to the Rev. Bernhard H.
and Julia Ann Louise Buchmeuller Heithaus. She married Frank W.
Waterstreet on June 16, 1949, in St. Louis, Mo. He died Nov. 8,
1983.
She
was also preceded in death by one brother, Herman Heithaus, and two
sisters, Freida Gehlbach and Erma Heithaus.
Ron
and Josie Ritchhart of Lincoln were her caregivers for a number of
years.
She
was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln,
Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, Illinois Retired Teachers,
NRTA of AARP and Order of the Eastern Star 351 of Lincoln.
She
was a graduate of Lebanon High School and Illinois State University.

Lohrenz
Marion
G. Lohrenz, 82, of Lincoln died at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002,
at his home.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His
funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in
Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating.
Burial
will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln, where military rites will be
accorded.
Lohrenz
retired from Sears Roebuck and Co., Lincoln, where he worked in
shipping and receiving. He also retired from St. Clara’s Manor,
where he worked as a painter. He and his wife owned and operated
Speedwash Laundromat in Mason City for a number of years.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He
was born Sept. 28, 1919, in New Holland, to William C. and Anna
Marie Groth Lohrenz. He married Iris Westlund on May 30, 1942, in
Huntsville, Ala.
Surviving
are his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Michael (and Shearl) Lohrenz of
Springfield; one daughter, Judy (and Cliff) Perkins of Lincoln;
seven grandchildren, Michael Lohrenz II, Justin Lohrenz, Leslie Ann
Hoefle, Angie Sanders, Teresa Campbell, Debra Perkins and Amanda
Steele; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Mason, Alex Sanders,
Brandon Steele, Lauren Hoefle, Lindsey Sanders, Alicia Sanders and
Emily Sanders; two brothers, Stanley and William Lohrenz, both of
Lincoln; and one sister, Anna Lohrenz of Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn.
He
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln and American Legion
Post 263.
Memorials
may be made to Memorial Medical Center Foundation-Hospice, Zion
Lutheran Church of Lincoln or the American Legion Post 263 building
fund.

Charles
E. Vannoy, 78, of Lincoln died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 20,
2002, at his home.
His
funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln. Chad Ragsdale will officiate.
Visitation
will be two hours before the service time.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Bethel Cemetery, Emden.
Vannoy
was a laborer at Fuller Seed Co. before his retirement.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in Germany in the
European Theatre and received the Purple Heart.
He
was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Atlanta to Ephraham and Mabel Barley Kelso
Vannoy.
Surviving
are one son, Billy Vannoy of Lincoln; one daughter, Linda Sherrer of
Lincoln; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one
sister, Bertha Scroggin of Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Vannoy, and three
sisters, Fern Vannoy, Marie Vannoy and Thelma Mason.
He
was of the Protestant faith.
