Leslie
Edmond Wilkins, 61, of Springfield died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, May
1, 2002, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Park Meadows Baptist Church in
Lincoln.
His
funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev.
S.M. Davis officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Arrangements
are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Wilkins
was retired from Slabjackers Construction in Springfield.
He
was born July 7, 1940, in Central City, Ky., to Everett and Ora Dell
Sallee Wilkins. He married Carolyn "Sue" Piper on Aug. 21,
1958, in Island, Ky.
Surviving
Wilkins are his wife, of Springfield; three sons, Chuck (and Nancy)
Wilkins of Lincoln, David (and Jennifer) Wilkins of Lincoln and
Terry (and B.J.) Wilkins of Cedar Lake, Ind.; one daughter, Sue
Ellen Wilkins of Plattsmouth, Neb.; seven grandchildren; three
brothers, Don Wilkins of Greenville, Ky., and Phil and Micah Wilkins
of Central City, Ky.; and one sister, Lutitia Wilder of Greenville,
Ky.
He
was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church of Lincoln.

Dahman
Robert
P. Dahman, 74, of Lincoln died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002,
at his home.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
A
graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hewitt Cemetery,
Lovington.
Dr.
Dahman was a retired dentist. He began his practice in Streator, and
then moved to Lincoln in 1968. He retired in 1998.
He
was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He
was born April 29, 1928, in Decatur to Otto and Vivian Timmons
Dahman.
Surviving
Dr. Dahman are four sons, Thomas (and Sheree) Dahman of New Holland,
John Dahman of Edwardsville, Steven Dahman of New Holland and
William Dahman of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; one brother, Richard
(and Pat) Dahman of Maroa; one sister-in-law, Shirley Dahman of
Decatur; and one brother-in-law, Reed Bricker of Decatur.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Dahman, and
one sister, Kathryn Bricker.
He
was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church, Elks Lodge 210
and American Legion Post 263, all in Lincoln.
Memorials
may be made to Elks Crippled Children’s Fund or the fire fund for
American Legion Post 263.

Henry
"Hank" J. Lessen, 74, of Lincoln died at 9:48 a.m.
Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
in Lincoln. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Roger David,
will follow at 6 p.m.
Burial
of cremains will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery at a later date.
Military rites will be conducted then.
Arrangements
are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Lessen
was owner of Hank’s Upholstery in Lincoln for 30 years.
He
was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He
was born July 1, 1927, in Lincoln to Henry J. and Delila Franz
Lessen. He married Donna Kromminga on Dec. 26, 1948, in Lincoln. She
survives.
Also
surviving are one son, Terry (and Sheila) Lessen of Lincoln; one
daughter, Pamela (and Dean) Bismark of Kirkwood; son-in-law Bill
Fricke of Mount Pulaski; seven grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; three
brothers, Dick Lessen of Lincoln, Gene Lessen of Richardson, Texas,
and Ron Lessen of Mount Morris; and one sister, Delores Baughman of
Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Kristie
Fricke.
He
was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Lincoln and
American Legion Post 263.
The
family requests no flowers. Memorials may be given to the Juvenile
Diabetes Association or to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Lincoln.

E. Boyd, 84, of Mount Pulaski died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30,
2002, at Odyssey Harbor House in Las Vegas, Nev.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
Services
will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday. Don McCain will
officiate.
Burial
will be in Kline Cemetery, Broadwell.
Boyd
was a mechanic.
He
was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served in the Seabees
from 1944-1946. He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Decatur to Earl and
Catherine Eschbaugh Boyd. He married Myrtle Cooley on May 19, 1973,
in Springfield. She died Dec. 29, 2001.
Surviving
are one son, Danny (and Nancy) Boyd of Osage Beach, Mo.; two
daughters, Rita (and Leonard) Remmert of Henderson, Nev., and Lana
(and Bart) Miller of Lincoln; two step-daughters, Nancy Vonnahmen of
Springfield and Janice (and Jeffrey) Holzworth of Taylorville; five
grandchildren, Chad (and Sandee) Remmert of Las Vegas, Nev., Joshua
Boyd of Osage Beach, Mo., Shauna Boyd of Springfield, Mo.; Zachary
Boyd of Osage Beach, Mo., and Brandon Miller of Lincoln; two
step-grandchildren, Tyler Vonnahmen of Springfield and Justin
Holzworth of Taylorville; two great-grandchildren, Lacey and Logan
Remmert, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; three brothers, Ralph (and Eileen)
Boyd of Decatur, Gene (and Sue) Boyd of Havasu, Ariz., and Jim Boyd
of San Diego, Calif.; and four sisters, Betty Chaney of Decatur,
Ruth Meador of Mount Zion, Bernice (and Irvin) Blocker of Prescott,
Ariz., and Marlene Gladden of Springfield.
He
was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
He
was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church.
