Gary
Shull
Gary Shull, 59, of Lincoln died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2002,
at the U.S. Route 66 bridge south of Lincoln.
A graveside service
will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Union Cemetery, Lincoln. The Rev.
Ray Hudson will officiate.
There is no
visitation. Arrangements are being handled by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Shull was a
self-employed farmer.
He was born Jan. 14,
1943, in Latham to John and Jessie Matlock Shull.
Surviving are his
mother, of Lincoln; two sons, Richard Lee Shull of Ossian, Ind., and
Terry Ray Shull of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; one brother, Ronald Dean Shull of New Holland; and
many nieces and nephews.

Marguarite Berger
Marguarite F. Berger, 93, died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday,
Oct. 5, 2002. She resided at the Christian Village Nursing Home in
Lincoln.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home
in Lincoln.
The Rev. Richard Reinwald will conduct
a graveside service 9 a.m. Wednesday at Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Ms. Berger worked as a secretary for the Illinois Agriculture
Department.
She was born to Oct. 23, 1908, in Logan County to August A. and
Louise K. Eberle
Berger.
She is survived by two cousins, George Eberle and Shirley Edwards of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her
parents and one brother, Paul A. Berger.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ
and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She graduated from Lincoln Community
High School and attended Lincoln College.

Marguerite Noe
Marguerite E. Noe,
84, of Chestnut died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at
Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.
Her funeral will be
at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. Cleveland Bradfield will officiate. Visitation will be two
hours before the service.
Burial will be in
Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut.
Mrs. Noe retired from
the Illinois Department of Public Aid, where she was a clerical
worker.
She was born May 8,
1918, in Lexington, Ky., to William M. and Elizabeth Reynolds
Stilwell. She married Clarence Noe in Lexington, Ky., on May 11,
1959. He died Jan. 5, 1994.
Surviving are one
son, Larry W. (and Patricia) Noe of Decatur; two granddaughters,
Vikki (and Kurt) Eltvedt of Cary and Cindi (and Jason) Mackling of
Decatur; and four great-grandchildren, Zoey Mackling, Kaelyn
Mackling and Ashlyn Mackling, all of Decatur, and Tyler Eltvedt of
Cary.

Joseph Stone
Joseph L. Stone, 71,
of Lincoln died at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be
from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30.
His funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holland and Barry.
Burial will be in
Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Stone was
administrator of Friendship Manor in Lincoln. He was currently
serving his community as a 5th Ward alderman on the Lincoln City
Council. He had also served on the Logan County Board of Review.
He was born April 20,
1931, in Chicago to Joseph L. and Katherine Otis Sr. He married
Colleen Carncross on April 21, 1972, in Lincoln. He married Angela
L. Howerton on June 15, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Also surviving are
children Carol Ann Stone of Okalahoma City, Okla.; Linda Stone
Obrien (and husband John) of Palatine, Nina Renee Stone of Lake in
the Hills, Leonard Joseph Stone of Springfield, Jennifer Renee
McKinney of Lincoln and Michael Paul McKinney of Lincoln; four
grandchildren, Jennifer Obrien, Daniel Obrien and Katherine Obrien,
all of Palatine, and Sean Seghi, address unknown; siblings Randolph
Wellington Saber of Orlando, Fla., Victor Calvet of Florida and
Renee Van Arsdale of Des Moines, Iowa; and his stepfather, Frederick
J. Untrauer of Urbandale, Iowa.
He was a member of
Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln, grand master of the
Grand Lodge of Illinois, past grand master of IOOF Lodge 204 of
Lincoln, past president of B’Nai B’Rith of Lincolnwood, 32nd degree
Mason of Hiram Lodge of Madison, Wis., a member of Ansar Shrine of
Springfield and the Ansar Legion of Honor in Springfield.
In the past, he had
worked for WBBM and WGN radio in Chicago. He had also been a
volunteer fireman and paramedic in Ankeny, Iowa, and a licensed real
estate agent.
He was a graduate of
Miami University of Ohio and had also completed post-graduate work
at Cornell University in New York.
