Mildred Carpenter
Mildred F. Carpenter, 93, of Lincoln
died at 4:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at the Christian Village in
Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Marianna Taylor
officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mrs. Carpenter worked as an LPN and
supervisor at Lincoln Developmental Center for 30 years. She had
also been employed at Stetson China.
She was born March 13, 1909, in Lincoln
to Frank and Mollie Bell Dial Lozier. She married Burton Carpenter
on June 10, 1937, in Springfield. He died Oct. 17, 1989.
Surviving are one son, David F. (and
Judi) Carpenter of Decatur; one daughter, Patricia (and Charles)
Mounce of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren;
seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Allie Mae Landahl
of Woodstock.
She was also preceded in death by two
stepsons, one stepdaughter, one stepgrandson and one great-grandson.
She was a member of Lincoln Christian
Church, the Christian Nursing Home Auxiliary, ISEA and VFW
Auxiliary.
She had volunteered at the Christian
Nursing Home for 20 years.

Dick Robertson
Dick A. Robertson, 92, of Mason City
died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at his home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday
at the First Baptist Church of Mason City, with the Rev. Ralph
Deming officiating.
Mr. Robertson was a farmer.
He was born Nov. 10, 1909, in Green
County, Ky., to James A. and Mary E. Judd Robertson. He married
Marie M. Edwards on Feb. 8, 1930, at the Mason City Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Bob
(and Janis) Robertson of Mason City; one daughter, Rose M. (and Roy)
Leamon of Pekin; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and
one sister, Ora Mae Stevens Russell of Springs, Ky.
He was a 75-year member of the First
Baptist Church and held several offices in the congregation.
He was also a member of the Mason
County Farm Bureau and was on the Pennsylvania Township board for
many years.
