Clara Wehner

Clara Wehner, 88, of Mount Pulaski died at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Miss Wehner was a farmer.

She was born May 6, 1914, at Mount Pulaski to Charles and Nettie Uhle Wehner.

Survivors are three cousins, Amy Uhle of Lincoln, Ruth (and Gilbert) Degenhardt of Girard and Eunice Fitzell, address unknown.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski and the church’s Ladies Circle.

Memorials may be made to the church or to Logan County Humane Society.

Lola List

Lola Helen List, 81, of Mason City died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City. The Rev. James Sprinkel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Virden Cemetery, Virden.

Mrs. List was a homemaker for her family.

She was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Kentucky to Lawrence and Lucy Crane Jones. She married John Albert List Jr. on Nov. 30, 1937, in Clayton, Mo. He died in 1984.

Surviving are one son, Ronnie Lee (and Janice) List of Mason City; one daughter, Nancy Carolyn List of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Jones, Horse Cave, Ky.; and two sisters, Hazel Wells of Lexington, Ky., and Opal Jenn Watkins of Horse Cave, Ky.

She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mason City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

 

Darwin Shull, Sr.

Darwin R. Shull, Sr., 68, of Chestnut died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at St. John's North, Springfield.

His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Richard Stamm officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Laenna Cemetery in Chestnut.

Mr. Shull worked in experimental water treatment systems.

He was born May 2, 1934, in Logan County to Dorrell T. and Kathryn Sheridan Shull.

Survivors are six children:  three daughters, Christine Peasley and Janet Boyer, both of Lincoln, and Kathy (Kenny) Aderman of Atlanta, and three sons, Dennis (Mamie) Shull and Colin (Tammy) Shull, both of Lincoln, and Darwin Shull, Jr., of Texas.  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Chestnut.

Memorials may be made to the Darwin R. Shull family.

Mary Febus

Mary O. Febus, 103, of Mt. Pulaski died at 5:44 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Her graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carlyle Cemetary in Lake Fork, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.

Burial will be in Carlyle Cemetery in Lake Fork.

Mrs. Febus was born July 4, 1899, in Lake Fork to William H. and Mary Ann Keehler Bryson.

Survivors are two children and three grandchildren:  one son, Wayne (Jeanne) Febus of Normal, one daughter, Waneta (Tom) Stephens of Mt. Pulaski, one grandson, Harry W. (Valera) Milner of Sherman, and two granddaughters, Cynthia Hill of Elgin and Lisa (Bob) Brown of Mt. Pulaski.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers.

She was a member of Lake Fork Christian Church, Mt. Pulaski Woman's Club and Mt. Pulaski Garden Club and was a whistler for the Mt. Pulaski Kitchen Band for a number of years.

Memorials may be made to the Lake Fork Christian Church.
