Yeates, 83, of Lincoln
died Sunday (Dec. 14, 2003) at 9:30 a.m. at her home.
She was cremated, and there will be no
visitation.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m.
Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery,
Lincoln, at a later date.
Mrs. Yeates retired in 1990 from Eureka
Manufacturing in Bloomington, where she was an assembler.
She was born May 17, 1920, in Lincoln
to John and Ida Dady Loeffler. She married Virgil “Bogi” Yeates on
Aug. 17, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Dec. 30, 1976.
Survivors are four daughters, Virginia
“Ginny” (and Charles) Harmon of Lincoln, Kaye Swinson (and Leonard
Kemp) of Springfield, Linda Yeates (and Jerome Brown) of Lincoln and
Paula (and Bob) Kodatt of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; 31
great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Loeffler of Quincy; and one
sister, Betty Williams of Lincoln.
She was also preceded in death by one
son, Virgil “Bogi” Yeates Jr.

Sharon A. Leesman, 60,
of Hartsburg died Friday (Dec. 12, 2003) at 3:13 p.m. at OSF St.
Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Her funeral will
be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, with the Rev. David Russell
and the Rev. Richard Ratts officiating. Visitation was on Monday at
the church.
Burial will be in Hartsburg Union
Cemetery.
Mrs. Leesman operated a day-care center
for nearly 40 years.
She was born June 15, 1943, in Adrian,
Mich., to Clarence and Annie Whitmore Buckles. She married Dean E.
Leesman on June 17, 1961, in Mount Pulaski.
Survivors are her husband, of
Hartsburg; one son, Alan (and Kim) Leesman of Springfield; two
daughters, Cindy (and Chris) Wenninger of Groveland and Nancy (and
Rich) Ratts of Jackson, Mich.; nine grandchildren; her mother, Annie
Buckles of Lincoln; and one sister, Linda (and Ron) Parker of
Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her father
and stepfather.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran
Church of Hartsburg and the Kogudus Christian organization.

Glenn C. Vaughan, 81, of
Mount Pulaski died Saturday (Dec. 13, 2003) at 4:55 p.m. at
Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.
A private graveside service and burial
were on Tuesday at Mount Pulaski Cemetery, with Bill Shanle
officiating. A private visitation for the family preceded the
service.
Mr. Vaughan was a retired farmer.
He was born Nov. 20, 1922, at Latham to
Charles and Jessie Williams Vaughan. He married Mildred Riedle on
July 31, 1943, in Mount Pulaski.
Survivors are his wife; three sons and
two daughters, Lynn C. (and Linda) Vaughan, Steven (and Clara)
Vaughan, Lance (and Donna) Vaughan, Glenna E. (and Buster) Wilham
and Susan (and Roger) Oxby, all of Mount Pulaski; 15 grandchildren;
and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one
brother.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church
of Mount Pulaski.

Leona L.
Robbins, 86, of Lincoln died Saturday
(Dec. 13, 2003) at 12:10 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Robbins was a homemaker.
She was born May 27, 1917, in Lincoln
to Nicholas and Minnie Marsh Schaper. She married Herbert Robbins in
Lincoln on Dec. 11, 1934. He died Aug. 3, 2000.
Survivors are one son, Ronald (and
Nancy) Robbins of Lincoln; one daughter, Marcia Mulcahy of
Springfield; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three
sisters and was the last of her immediate family.
Memorials may be made to Maple Ridge
Care Centre, Lincoln.

John E. Britton Sr., 60,
of Lincoln died Friday (Dec. 12, 2003) at 7:56 a.m. at his home.
His body was donated to science, and
there will be no services.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of
Lincoln handled arrangements.
Mr. Britton had worked at Pittsburg
Plate Glass in Lincoln, as a tire builder at Firestone in
Bloomington and as bartender at the Eagles Lodge in Lincoln.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was born June 18, 1943, in Lincoln
to Lewis and Claribel Purlee Britton. He married Carolyne Hubner on
June 30, 1964, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife; one son,
John E. Britton Jr. of Bloomington; two daughters, Jennifer Steel of
Mason City and Barbara (and John) Boch of Lincoln; six
grandchildren; one brother, Mike Britton of Elk Horn, Wis.; and one
sister, Nancy Billington of McLean.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one sister.
He was a member of First Cumberland
Presbyterian Church of Lincoln and Eagles Lodge 2708.
