Area Charity Spills Over to Make a Merrier Christmas                                   Send a link to a friend

[DEC. 23, 2003]  Hearts and hands have been busy through out Logan County preparing for Christmas 2003. Like any other year it is a busy time for nearly everyone and budgets are strained, but some have made sure that those in need are not forgotten.

A sizable check from the Salt Creek Chapter of ABATE, a local motorcycle group known for their charity, was given to the Lincoln Fire Department to help provide a “merrier” Christmas for local children.   “This is our small way of giving back to the community,” Al Temple, Treasurer for ABATE wrote.

Chief Bucky Washam said that they felt it best to turn the check over to CIEDC and let them see to it that the money go to the place of most need.

CIEDC assists those who are struggling through difficult times or are less fortunate. The money was given to the Food Pantry to help fund Christmas Food Baskets.  Christmas hams and other holiday dinner delights went into each of the two hundred fifty baskets that were distributed Dec. 20th.

Holiday dinner baskets also went out through the Salvation Army.
