73, Lincoln
Robert E. “Gene” Wilson, 73, of Lincoln died at home on Tuesday,
Dec. 30, 2003 at 11 a.m.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at 10:30
a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Lincoln. Rev. Jame Hahs
will officiate. Visitation for family and friends of Mr. Wilson will
follow the service in the church basement followed by a luncheon.
Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader. He was
cremated.
Mr. Wilson was born to Ed and Alta Fugate Wilson on Feb. 12, 1930 in
Bloomington. He married Fran Spesard on May 18, 1989 in Lincoln.
Mr. Wilson farmed for many years in the Beason area, was an
auctioneer, realtor and owned and operated Wilson Furniture in
Lincoln for many years, retiring in 2003.
He is survived by three sons, Steve (Sandy) Wilson of Lincoln; Mike
(Rosie) Wilson of Washington, D.C.; Curt (Kim) Wilson of Bellvue,
IA; three step-sons, Rick (Nancy) Spesard and Randy (Julie) Spesard,
both of Marenco; and Ray Spesard of Phoenix, AZ.; one sister,
Shirley (Dave) Pope of Maroa; two stepbrothers, Dean (June Wikowsky
of Richmond, VA; Fred (June)Wikowky of Hendersonville, TN; three
stepsisters, Virginia Walston of Guyton, GA; Ruth Greeson of Peoria;
Betty (Clarence) Kiel of N. Fort Myers, FL; five grandchildren, six
stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the First United Methodist Church,
Courier Citizen of the Month, former president of Beason School
Board, past president of Kiwanis, Logan County Chairman of Easter
Seals, auctioneer for many civic organization benefits, Lincoln Elks
Lodge #914, Lincoln Lodge #210, Springfield Consistory, Ansar
Shrine, and past president of Logan Co. Shrine Club.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Illinois or the First
United Methodist Church.

Jr., two months, Indianapolis, IN
Joseph Douglas Parr, Jr., two months, Indianapolis, IN died of
natural causes at 9:52 a.m. Mon., Dec. 29,2003, at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hurley
Funeral Home of Mason City. Services will be Saturday, Jan. 3 at
10:30 a.m.at Hurley Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Bolin-Ghitalia will
officiate. He will be buried in Richmond Grove, New Holland.
Young Mr. Parr was born to Joseph and Sabrina Marie Nighbert Parr on
Oct. 22, 2003 in Indianapolis, IN. He was 8 lbs. 13 oz. and 21
inches long at birth.
Both his parents survive. He is grandson of Roger and Marie Parr of
Mason City and Connie Huchison of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George A. Nighbert,
great-grandfathers, Carl Nighbert, Charles Parr, Frank Niebrand and
Norman Boyce and great-grandmother Amelia Niebrand.
He has one brother, Allan Huff of Indiana and one sister, Katyln of
Mason City.

Charles H. Baldwin,
Jr., 65, Lincoln
Charles H. Baldwin, Jr., 65 of Lincoln passed away at his home at
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003.
Visitation will be from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. A graveside service
will be conducted following the visitation at Union Cemetery,
Lincoln. Rev. Larry Maffett will officiate.
Mr. Baldwin retired in 2000 as a printer from Springfield Journal.
He was born July 1, 1938 to Charles H. and Eva Smith Peters Baldwin,
Sr. in Harrisburg. He married Dwilla Neff on Aug. 12, 1969 in
Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Dale (Pam) Cooper of Mount
Pulaski, Paul Baldwin of Colorado, Roger (Michelle) Baldwin of
Heyworth; three daughters, Lori Baldwin of Oregon, Deborah (Rick)
Rigg of Atlanta, Diana (Jerry) Roberts of Wynne, AR; one sister,
Juanita (Bob) Frederick of Peoria. Also surviving are 14
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David and one
brother, Stanley.
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc.
