Clyde Price

Clyde K. Price, 83, formerly of Nashville, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at 12:15 p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, with Pastor David Russell officiating.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Price retired in 1970 after federal government employment at the U.S. Naval Ordinance Laboratory in Silver Spring, Md.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1936 until 1945 with Company B 44th Tank Battalion and received numerous decorations.

He was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Luray, Va., to Frank W. and Bertha L. Dobsen Price. He married Mildred J. Kotur in 1942 in Louisville, Ky.

Mr. Price is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Mike (and Vivian) Price of Lincoln; four granddaughters, Paula (and Craig) Conrady of New Holland, Kristie (and Chad) Bartman of Danvers, Kelly Price of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Katie Price of Lincoln; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ray (and Florence) Price of Satsuma, Fla.

He was also preceded in death by one son, four brothers and one sister.

In Nashville he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus 4384, American Legion Post 110 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

His hobbies included golfing, fishing and woodworking.

Johanna 'Jakie' Aylward

Johanna "Jakie" Aylward, 93, of Clinton, formerly of Lincoln, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at 6:15 a.m. at Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.

Miss Aylward worked as nurse for Dr. Drummy in Lincoln for a number of years and also worked for Dr. Stankus in Lincoln.

She was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Lincoln to Benjamin and Catherine Welsh Aylward.

Surviving are cousins Doug (and Deborah) Tilley of Clinton, Mike (and Melonie) Tilley of Clinton, Norma Tilley Rusling of Palm Springs, Calif., and Sandra Grimes of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Aylward and Catherine McGrew, and one brother, Frank Aylward.

Miss Aylward was a lifelong member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to Dr. John Warner Hospital.
