            Clyde Price Clyde K. Price, 83, 
            formerly of Nashville, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at 12:15 p.m. 
            at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln. A memorial service 
            will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg, 
            with Pastor David Russell officiating. Cremation rites have 
            been accorded. Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge 
            of arrangements. Mr. Price retired in 
            1970 after federal government employment at the U.S. Naval Ordinance 
            Laboratory in Silver Spring, Md. He served in the U.S. 
            Army from 1936 until 1945 with Company B 44th Tank Battalion and 
            received numerous decorations. He was born Aug. 17, 
            1919, in Luray, Va., to Frank W. and Bertha L. Dobsen Price. He 
            married Mildred J. Kotur in 1942 in Louisville, Ky. Mr. Price is survived 
            by his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Mike (and Vivian) Price of 
            Lincoln; four granddaughters, Paula (and Craig) Conrady of New 
            Holland, Kristie (and Chad) Bartman of Danvers, Kelly Price of Ann 
            Arbor, Mich., and Katie Price of Lincoln; three great-grandchildren; 
            and one brother, Ray (and Florence) Price of Satsuma, Fla. He was also preceded 
            in death by one son, four brothers and one sister. In Nashville he was 
            an active member of the Knights of Columbus 4384, American Legion 
            Post 110 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post. His hobbies included 
            golfing, fishing and woodworking. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of 
            Illinois, 720 N. Bond St., Springfield, IL 62702; or to the American 
            Diabetes Association.

            John Bowles 
            John E. Bowles, 70, of Mason 
            City died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at 12:27 p.m. at Mason District 
            Hospital in Havana. 
            Cremation rites have been 
            accorded. 
            His funeral will be at 11 a.m. 
            Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Mason City. The Rev. 
            Bruce Bolin-Ghitalla and the Rev. Martha Scaff will officiate. 
            Visitation will be one hour before the service. 
            Mr. Bowles most recently worked 
            for IRCC in Canton for 13 years. He taught business education for 14 
            years in Pearl City and for 12 years at Spoon River College in 
            Havana. He also farmed for 20 years. 
            He was a veteran of the U.S. 
            Air Force. 
            He was born April 22, 1932, in 
            Milltown, Ind., to John M. and Nolena Rothrock Bowles. He married 
            Ann Schoonover on Dec. 20, 1955, in Fairfield, Calif. She survives. 
            Also surviving are his mother; 
            two sons, J. Leslie Bowles and Scot R. Bowles, both of Mason City; 
            one daughter, Sally A. Bowles of Peoria; two grandchildren; one 
            brother, Loran Bowles of Milltown, Ind.; and four sisters, Ruth (and 
            Melvin) Williams of Corydon, Ind., Rozella (and Earl) North of 
            Floyds Knobs, Ind., Alice (and Mike) Combs of New Salisbury, Ind., 
            and Dorothy (and Bill) Booth of Milltown, Ind. 
            He was preceded in death by his 
            father and one sister, Betty Patton. 
            He was a member of the Easton 
            United Methodist Church, the Mason County Farm Bureau, AFSCME, a 
            charter member of Delta Pi Epsilon and a lifetime member of the 
            National Education Association. He served on the Easton board of 
            education for two terms and was a former member of the Mason County 
            Pork Producers. 
            Memorial contributions may be made to the Mason City or Easton 
            United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.   |
