Robert Fitzsimmons
Robert James Fitzsimmons, 81, of
Lincoln died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at 6:30 a.m. at the Illinois
Veterans Home in Quincy.
Visitation was from 8:30 until 9:30
a.m. Saturday at Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln, followed
by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with
Monsignor Richard Fitzsimmons officiating.
Burial is in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mr. Fitzsimmons worked as an accountant
for the state of Illinois before he retired.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Lincoln
to Joseph and Marie Fahay Fitzsimmons.
Surviving are two brothers, Monsignor
Richard Fitzsimmons of Batavia and Thomas Fitzsimmons of
Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three
brothers.
He was a member of Holy Family Church.
Memorials may be made to Carroll
Catholic School in Lincoln.

Edith Riddell
Edith M. Riddell, 91,
of McLean died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at 1:30 a.m. at Maple Ridge
Care Centre in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be
at 2 p.m. Monday at the McLean Christian Church, with Tony
Billingsley officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the
service.
Burial will be in
McLean Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home
in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Riddell was
employed as a bookkeeper at her husband's business, Riddell's Corn
Shelling and Trucking in McLean.
She was born Jan. 12,
1911, at Pittsburg, Kan., to Alfred and Pearl Ward Heising. She
married Hugh Riddell on Aug. 5, 1936, in Bloomington. He died in
1985.
Surviving are one
sister, Katherine Adair of Reeds Spring, Mo., and three
stepgrandchildren, Linda Trent, Connie Gunn and William Rhea, all of
Tucson, Ariz.
She was also preceded
in death by two brothers.
She was a member of
the McLean Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to the church.
