Marian Taylor

Marian Hild Taylor, 75, formerly of Elmhurst and Mount Pulaski, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at 1:50 p.m. at Timber Pines Assisted Living Center in Spring Hill, Fla.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her funeral will follow at 2 p.m., with Bill Shanle officiating.

Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.

Mrs. Taylor retired from the engineering department at Vogel-Peterson in Elmhurst.

She was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Logan County to Ernst R. and Leah Irene Shellhammer Hild. She married William Taylor in Eureka on May 8, 1947.

Surviving are her husband, of Spring Hill, Fla.; one son, William (and Michele) Taylor Jr. of Cherry Hill, N.J.; one daughter, Marsha (and Daniel) Vanlandingham of The Woodlands, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott Vanlandingham, Lori Vanlandingham, Krista Taylor and William Taylor III; and one brother, J. Lee (and Leora) Hild of Mount Pulaski.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Episcopal Church in Elmhurst.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Memorials may be made to Hernando County Hospice, Brooksville, Fla.

Ethel Coady

Ethel Maria Coady, 94, of Middletown died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at 8 p.m. at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Springfield.

Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhart, with Father Patrick DeMeulemeester officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, following visitation.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.

Miss Coady was employed by Union Carbide and later by the federal government, dealing with real estate purchases.

She was born April 4, 1908, in Middletown to James and Anna Gleason Coady.

Survivors include nieces and nephews Joyce Kunken-Wheeler (and Orville) of Girard, James Lee Kunken (and Joyce) of Greenview, Helen Kunken-Talkington (and Earl) of Girard, Ruby Coady Blaker (and Gene) of Mesa, Ariz., Robert F. Coady (and Leah) of Sommerset, Mass., and Dorothy Coady Mines (and Larry) of Urbana, and many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters and was the last of her immediate family.

She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1926 and went on to Brown's Business College in Springfield. In 2000 she attended her 74th class reunion.

Memorials may be made to the Middletown Rescue Squad.

Clarence Leinweber

Clarence Henry Leinweber, 86, of San Jose died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at 7:34 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Manito, with the Rev. Don Hinkel officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, rural San Jose.

Mr. Leinweber was a farmer and raised registered polled Herefords.

He was born May 29, 1916, in rural San Jose to Phillip and Maggie Classen Leinweber.

Surviving Mr. Leinweber are a nephew, Dick (and Linda) Garlisch of Forest City; three nieces, Janet (and John) Cunningham of Mason City, Marilyn (and Mike) Sebring of Sherman and Dolores (and Jim) Curry of Mason City; and one brother, Wilfred Leinweber of San Jose.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Garlisch and Ruby Robison, and one brother, George Leinweber.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Registered Polled Hereford Association and Mason County Farm Bureau.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.


Louise Schmidt

Louise A. Schmidt, 94, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at 5:13 a.m. at Mason City Nursing Home.

Her funeral was Friday morning at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. Dan Wissmann officiating. Visitation preceded the service.

Burial is in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Schmidt was a retired secretary to Irma Potter of the blood bank.

She was born March 14, 1908, in Lincoln to August and Matilda Moldenhauer Ramlow. She married Alvin C. Schmidt in Attica, Ind., on Feb. 2, 1935. He died Sept. 22, 2001.

Surviving are one son, Thomas Schmidt of Hartsburg; one daughter, Joyce (and husband Gene) Conrady of Mason City; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, four brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln, where she was a member of the church choir for 40 years and had also been a Sunday school teacher.
