Gerald Sparks, 55, of
New Holland, formerly of Middletown, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at
10 a.m. at his home.
Visitation will be
from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holland and Barry in Lincoln.
His funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holland and Barry, with Don Hoover
officiating.
Burial, with military
rites, will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Middletown.
Mr. Sparks was a
retired truck driver.
He served in the U.S.
Army from October 1967 to October 1969.
He was born July 18,
1947, in Lincoln to Thomas A. "Pete" and Dorothy M. Dugan Sparks. He
married Patricia Ramsey in Lincoln, and she survives.
Also surviving are
three children, Teresa Schriber (and husband Scott) of Lincoln, Chad
Sparks of Lincoln and Christina Sparks (and companion Ray Albertson)
of New Holland; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Tom (and
RuthAnne) Sparks of Lincoln, Bill Sparks of Hartsburg, Gary Sparks
of Dumfries, Va., and Bob Sparks of Mount Pulaski; and four sisters,
Rita (and Howie) Coffey of Petersburg, Donna (and Gator) Hutchison
of Middletown, Nancy (and Gus) Otto of Lincoln and Trish Tibbs
Minder of Lincoln.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and one granddaughter.
