Fay Dunn

Fay E. Dunn, 94, of Lincoln died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at 10:35 p.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home.

She was cremated, and a graveside committal of ashes will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Harmony Cemetery, Beason, with the Rev. Jame Haas officiating.

There is no visitation.

Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker for her family.

She was born Jan. 28, 1908, in Effingham County to Jesse and Calla Dinwiddie Tichenor. She married Harold W. Dunn in Chicago on Aug. 7, 1927. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Raycraft of Lincoln; two sons, James E. Dunn of Redding, Calif., and Robert Dunn of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

 

Eleanor Hudson

Eleanor Ruth Hudson, 85, of Mason City died at 7:16 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

Visitation was Wednesday evening at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City.

Her funeral was Thursday morning at the First Christian Church in Mason City, with the Rev. William Boyce officiating.

Burial is in Elkhart Cemetery.

Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker.

She was born March 12, 1917, in Chicago to Alfred and Frances Phillips Curtis. She married John Hudson in Chicago on Aug. 29, 1936. He died Feb. 24, 1981.

Surviving are two sons, John P. (and Teddie) Hudson Jr. of Antioch and Curtis (and Dana) Hudson of Elkhart; one daughter, Sue (and Bill) Zimmerman of Mason City; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother.

Ellie was a devoted member of the First Christian Church of Mason City and a gifted artist. She touched the lives of hundreds during the years by lifting their joys and sorrows up to the Lord through her card ministry, composted of her original sketches and carefully chosen Scripture verses.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
