John W. Crane, 82, of
Lincoln died last Wednesday (July 2, 2003) at 11:55 a.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His funeral was Tuesday
morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Julie Azbell officiating.
Visitation was at the funeral home on Monday.
Burial is in
Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mr. Crane retired
from farming in the Beason area.
He was born Jan. 19,
1921, at Mount Pulaski to John P. and Charlotte Suedmier Crane. He
married Vera Poynter on June 27, 1975, in Beason. She survives.
Other survivors are
one son, Jack (and Jan) Crane of Lincoln; four stepsons, Michael
(and Andrea) Hinton of Lincoln, Jim Hinton of Lincoln, Gary Hinton
of Lincoln and Bob (and Dawn) Hinton of Minnesota; one daughter,
Jill Boyd of Lincoln; two stepdaughters, Judy Hinton of Phoenix,
Ariz., and Joyce (and Steve) Walker of Wheeler, Texas; 17
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by two brothers, Donald and Kenneth "Jack," and one sister,
Louise. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was a member of
Beason United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to his church or
St. Clara's Manor.

Adam Markee
Adam Markee, 27, of Elkhart
died Saturday (July 5, 2003) at 12:10 a.m. at OSF St. Joseph's
Hospital in Bloomington as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8
p.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday at Mason City Assembly of God.
Burial will be in Elkhart
Cemetery, Elkhart.
Mr. Markee was a carpenter.
He was born Aug. 8, 1975, in
Woodstock. He married Danielle Kelsey on Feb. 15, 2000, in Lincoln.
Surviving are his wife, of
Elkhart; one son, Riley Markee, of Elkhart; his father, Bill (and
Janice) Markee of McHenry; his mother, Christine (and Al) Bublitz of
Greenview; three brothers, Perry (and Carrie) Markee of Cary, Joe
(and Gay) Ganske of Crystal Lake and John (and Tracy) Ganske of
Mavarre, Fla.; one sister, Rachel Markee of Greenview; and many
aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
maternal and paternal grandparents.
He was a member of Midwest
Motocross Club of Chandlerville.
