The Oasis, Logan County's
senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays
(except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on
Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the
executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior
citizens, regardless of membership.

Thursday potluck
Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday
for a summer celebration featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and a sundae
special for dessert. Bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation.
Stay for bingo, sponsored by
The Oasis, at 1 p.m. and the free lunch drawing sponsored by the
Blue Dog Inn.
Ticket deadline for July 12 card party
Thursday is the last day to buy
tickets for the Saturday card party, which starts with a luncheon at
noon, followed by pinochle, bridge and rummy games at 1 p.m. Stop at
the front desk to buy your ticket for only $8.
July 15 -- baked turkey and stuffing
Stop in before noon Monday and
buy your $3.50 ticket for turkey, trimmings, salad, bread and butter
served on Tuesday, July 15.
Oasis board of directors meetings
Meetings of The Oasis board of
directors are open to the public and are scheduled for the third
Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. The next three meeting dates are
July 17, Aug. 21 and Sept. 18. To schedule agenda items for one of
the monthly meetings, the board must receive notification in writing
on or before the fifth day of that month.

Computer classes
A few seats are available for
the word processing class scheduled for July 14-18 from 9:30 to
10:30 a.m. The cost is $15 for members and $18 for nonmembers. Call
732-6132 for a reservation.
Winners
Larry Van Bibber and Alice
Thornton were weekday pinochle winners the first week in July. Lucky
Eichner won weekend pinochle honors, and Ann Greger and Tom Garrison
were the lucky winners at 5 in 1. Harley Heath won pool on Sunday
night.
